I've read reviews of PS4 Elder Scrolls Online. It doesn't seem to be that promising. Will you continue to play the current version or will you venture to the new game?
I don't really understand your question. Are you asking whether we'll continue to play ESO when the next ES game comes out? Because in my case, that's a big fat nono. I got the game because it was an ES game, not because of the features it promised. I had about a month of MMO fun (not ES fun), and then things got repetitive and bland as usual in MMO's for me and I just quit. I'll come back somewhere in the future when there's a bunch of new story content or when the game becomes F2P, but it definitely didn't live up to the whole "An Elder Scrolls game that you can play with friends" promise.
I played ESO as a solo game, the same way I play any TES title. It played just fine. I quit, not because of lack of content or anything. I quit because of all the damn bots.
To give you a bit of an example: When ESO came out back in April I was in a very active guild that had a ton of people online every night playing the game. When I checked ESO last week (my subscription was about to run out, so I figured I'd give it one last glance) my guild had about 10 people online during prime time. The game failed at both bringing a good ESO experience, and failed at bringing a good MMO experience. I know that there are people that enjoy the game, and plenty still play it (I envy them because they have a new ES game that they can enjoy ), but most people that I've talked to were disappointed after a while and got bored of the game. I really don't think it's worth the 60$ + subscription. The game will most likely completely shut down when the next ES game comes out, if it lasts that long.
Edit: F2P means free to play
Not really for ESO, since the only addons that are allowed are some UI changes and things to make your life in the game a bit easier. Skyrim had, and still has, a crazy modding community that sometimes really produces some jewels. The falskaar mod was basically a DLC on it's own, and it's completely free.
Just remember: It's not Skyrim with Co-op. I quite enjoy it, but don't expect it to be exactly like Skyrim. Ask around on the ESO subredit.
Good news: Bots are nearly extinct.
That ridiculous $$$$ monthly subscription might have actually been worth it if ESO could deliver something more of a TES expereince.
From the moment they mentioned ESO I knew I wasn't going to play it, not to mention dying a little inside due to Bethesda actually going there... just why.
Never have, never will. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UdKHIx7kFIw/TZr5-En7bhI/AAAAAAAAA_0/Wf68eHnmELA/s1600/carrot1+copy.jpg, no matter what name they have or company are under all end up the same, a boring un-innovative grind fest, hack/bot/gold seller paradise, unbalanced pvp and end game content that involves you sitting around afk doing sod all, waiting for the next major grind fest update to come so you can grind more to grind later... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
To put it bluntly:
