Help with "Following in his footsteps"

Post » Thu Jun 25, 2015 6:35 am

So I've finally decided to give this game a go and I love it. Problem is, when I came out of vault 101, I spoke to Silver and let her off with only a few caps. It wasn't until I looked up a walkthrough for this quest that I realised I needed to speak to her after speaking to Moriarty. I now have no idea how to get 300 caps. My boyfriend also told me that I can skip parts of quests, meaning I could go straight to Three Dog, but I have no idea how to get to him safely. I'm currently only level 4, so I have no idea what I can do. Any help is appreciated!

You could always go back to Silver's place, shoot her in the head, and take her stuff.

You could go straight there but level 4 might be a bit too low.

I'd go and do Moira's quests with the Wasteland Survival Guide.

But if you want to get there. There's a subway station, almost directly East of the Superduper Mart, on the opposite side of the river, Farragut West. Follow that through to Tenleytown. Once you're on the street you'll run into some BoS and you can tag along with them to GNR.

I'm currently doing Moria's quest, I didn't think I gained any caps from it though.

I also killed Silver after seeing she apparently dropped 400 caps, but when I killed her, she only dropped 100.

Keep doing Moiras quests and explore, scavenge for caps, you'll have the 300 eventually.

Silver is suppose to have 400 caps. You can talk to her right after leaving the vault because at the start she thinks the moriarity quest is already happened. Speak to her nice and you'll get 300 caps if you fail the speech check, or 400 if you pass it I think. If you kill her she will have 400 caps unless you kill her after telling Moriarity she left town, etc then she will have 100.

Or you know you could not pay moriarity the 300 caps he wants... cause he's a dike... and just break into his computer terminal and steal the info....

I would but I currently don't have the right science level to hack into his terminal ._. I have 300 caps now after doing the quest for the pre-war books, but I might wait until I get enough science level.

I believe the password is kept in the wardrobe next to the computer if your lockpick skill is high enough.

As a general rule if you need caps, pick up anything you find lying around and sell it. There's a value/ weight ratio for each item listed on the wiki. You can collect any scrap metal you find and sell it to a guy in Megaton, and Sugar Bombs can also be sold to a ghoul you'll find in a metro station.
