Something I've Been Wanting To Say...

Post » Sun Jun 28, 2015 8:43 pm

Call me jealous, but I'm kind of jealous that all of the famous roleplays are getting so much attention. On this website quotev I've made a story about FNAF, I didn't even get any attention all those smooch, romances keep getting all the attention. I'm not just talking about me, I'm talking about other people as well. Lot of us role players are starting out, and we never get that much attention. I want all stories to get attention, I never get noticed on my stories either, not on this site. So what do you think about my statement?

What's FNAF?

As for advice, work on your premise before you post an Interest Check and join some RPs. People aren't going to want to join if you don't have a clear basis to build on. You've got a town run by an ex-NCR mystery man. That could be a good start but it's just the barebones start. Mystery is great but not everything can be a mystery.

Why is he the leader?
Who are The Saviors?
Where is the town?
What else is nearby?
What themes are you interested in?
How long has the town been around?
When is this happening?
How does the town feel about ghouls/super mutants/NCR/Legion/Other relevant factions?

It's harder making an RP about a new location with new faces, that's why the Capital Wasteland and Mojave see so many different RPs set in or near them

There's really not that many people RPing here, and there's also a few RPs already going on.
Which means a new one doesn't often attract a lot of attention at first.

It's really up to you, as the initial creator, to interest people on your idea.

There's a http://www.gamesas.com/topic/893712-so-you-think-you-can-rp/ that gives some pointers on how to start.

I already suggested in your other thread, that you take a look at the pinned threads on here, specifically, "So You Think You Can RP". That will help you to start. Making threads like this, don't help your situation though.

And as I said already before as well, there's not a whole lot of people on here at the moment to fill a lot of RPs. There's too many RP ideas, and not enough people to fill them.

I did take a look at that thread, it did help me a lot. I'm just talking about the lack of light being shed on some stories.

I wouldn't take that as a personal offense. The forums are slow right now, and there are not to many people available to participate in RP's. The ones that are here and willing to participate in an RP are more than likely in one, if not multiple. So unfortunately this is a really bad time to start a new RP, the best thing I can tell you to do until things pick up is to fine tune your information and participate in existing RP's. There are dozens of great writers just in the Fallout forums alone, and by writing with them, or just reading their posts you can learn a lot. As they say 'no knowledge is useless knowledge,' and you might learn something that may benefit your RP.

Maybe then instead of making an RP of your own right away, you should join one of the RPs that are already up and running. As I suggested as well. Not every project someone puts up, is going to get light, because of many reasons. The main reason your idea isn't getting a lot of interest, is because most people are already in a few RPs, and when people are in too many, that means their attention to other's that they're participating in, is taken away and then that idea that was already going, starts to die. And that can happen a lot on here, especially when, as I'll repeat again, there's too many RP ideas, and not enough people to join.

So maybe just hold off, wait, and join one of the RPs that's going, then at a later date, when this section is full of more people, bring up your idea again and see if people want to join.

You should use the General Discussion thread to develop your idea. Light may then be shines upon it, and that thread is the place for General Discussions.

@MrSmileySmile Gage is leader because he is the creator of the town and is brave. The Saviors are people who help other wastelanders and take them into their town for safety. The town is in Sanctuary Hills. Their are camps of raiders, and someone named Jack who lives alone, and is very mysterious, he also sales some strange meat. I interested in making it like Good Springs but they are never afraid to fight back. The date will remain unknown until I get enough people to get on board with this. The town takes kindly to ghouls, and the friendly super mutants, they hate the legion. And the NCR don't operate outside of California. And FNAF means Five Nights At Freddy's, so all of your questions are answered.

The gamesas forums aren't a dedicated Roleplay forum. We are and remain a gaming forum first and foremost. We just don't have the numbers to support many active Roleplays. Those who come to these forums usually just want technical support, Cheats and Spoilers or just want to talk about their favorite weapons.

Those that come to the Roleplay Sub-Forum typically just want to check things out and stay if they like the roleplays or community. Not many come to the gamesas Forums with the initial intent to Roleplay.

Roleplays sometimes have a rocky start, often most don't care for the location, or subject . Others tend to like a particular type of Roleplay. Roleplays just die before they get started and that's just how it is.

But like a Miner digging for gold. If you don't strike it rich just keep trying. That's all you can do.
