Haven't played in 5 years, looking for some helpsuggestions

So everything I hear about Fallout 4 makes it sound awful. BUT it has rekindled a desire to replay FO:NV. I only own the base game, no DLC.

A few questions.

Should I buy all the DLC or just some of it?

Mods. I browsed various mods on nexusmods. I wondering if someone can help me decide and if the various mods can work at the same time.

The obvious first one is the User Interface Organizer.

http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57174/?

Do you know if these different mods will work together or not? Should I use one rather than another? I will list the names and then post the links coded below the list.

1 Project Nevada

2 A World of Pain

3 MTUI

4 NVInteriors Project

5 Roleplayers Alternative Start

6 Nevada Skies - Weather Effects

7 FOOK

8 Monster Mod

9 Fellout

10 Interior Lighting Overhaul

11 Beyond Boulder Dome

12 The New Bison Steve Lucky Hotel and Casino

13 Radio Free Wasteland

14 RTS/ Real Time Settler

I would highly recommend the DLCs. Everyone has a brilliant story line. My personal favorite is Lonesome Road. :)

If you get them, I suggest to play them in the following order:

Honest Hearts (I usually go there around lvl 8 - you get some nice gear and come back to kick butts haha. Plus, the change of scenery is great.)

Old World Blues

Dead Money

Lonesome Road

As for the mods, sorry, I usually just play with Project Nevada and lately with the alternate start mod, so both of them work well together.

Don't forget to gethttp://nvse.silverlock.org/ though, if you are planning on installing all these mods.

Have fun! New Vegas never gets old! :)

Definitely get all four DLCs. Some of the best stories and characters in FNV are in them.

Worth noting that Lonesome Road you can start and leave any time, OWB and HH you have to finish the main quest before return to the Mojave, but can come and go after that.

Dead Money you can only do once, and not return to upon completion.

Gun Runners Arsenal is useful for all the new/unique weapons added to the game, Courier's Stash is OK but not really necessary. Just makes the first few levels easier.

Get all DLC. If not for the story then for the perks; some of them make certain comba styles very effective. Not to even forget extra traits one offers.

If anything I'd recomend Dead Money. You'll never need money again if you max out the casino.

Be sure to read the internet extensively regarding Dead Money. There are a few very nasty surprises waiting for you in that one, and there is also a game-breaking glitch at the end. You'll need to read how to get past it, or you will be trapped there forever when the elevator doesn't go where it's supposed to at the climatic ending escape. If you can't use the console, don't play Dead Money.

Actually, it's not all that bad. Instead of taking the elevator to freedom and the ending epilogue sequence, it takes you back to the room where you first hopped on that elevator. You'll have to trek all the way back through the casino to get to the front door, and then use the console to open the door which you can't otherwise open. ( Ignore the sound of the monsters on the other side. They vanish ) That gets you back outside to the courtyard, and then you can go to the gate to escape.

Finally, save your game a LOT in Dead Money. You will die. A LOT.

Also, a word of advice...when you first meet a certain ghoul, be nice and respectful to him. That pays off later. Talk smack and you'll regret it.
