Conflicting Settlement Info....

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 4:01 am

Is anyone else having confusing data on their pipboy about their settlements, I've only really noticed this happening to Sanctuary but earlier in my game it kept telling me I didn't have enough beds when I did and then now told me I have 33 settlers (jumped from 17) however when I visited to accommodate and/or rehome it was back to 17...

Anyone else having these issues or know how to stop them or even if they are indicative of something supposed to happen in the games future?

unfortunately with the beds thing, you have to individually assign them to a specific bed. i complained about this in another thread just how idiotic it was to have to do that because it's almost impossible to track which settler you have assigned to which bed.

as for the other thing, i noticed that as well. it said there were 16 people in sanctuary when there were, in fact, 24.

Yeah, the bed thing has been hit and miss but has mostly corrected itself over time, but I'm sure you could imagine my confusion when an hour ago I had 17 settlers and then was being told I had 33 that had come from nowhere only the 16 new people didn't exist

I had a settlement tell me there were zero people when I knew people were there. When I arrived the place was ransacked ... Almost all resources needed repair... No idea what happened (I did have defenses!)

Yeah, the settlement stats on your pipboy are always screwy.. just don't pay attention to them. It's basically like there are two different scripts going on. How the game thinks the settlements should be is on the pipboy.. i.e. after an attack it shows less settlers, food gone, defenses destroyed, etc. .. but it apparently can't account for how the games spawn/respawn systems works. Stay away from a settlement long enough and everything will be back to normal and fixed without you having to do a thing. It also can't account for the permanent settlers.. Settlers that are originally in a settlement can't die. So if a settlement with original settlers gets attacked it'll always show that a few of them died, even though they didn't. The only way to make the pipboy sync up with a settlement is to go to that settlement.
