Why aren't Deathclaws climbing walls yet?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 11:05 pm

It can't be that difficult to implement. And it would really make for "oh [censored]" moments when they start climbing there way up to you. Otherwise you can just go "Enter building. Exit through roof. Cheese way to victory." I mean, they have claws. Dig them in those walls! Would be cool to have that. Wonder if a mod can do it?

Good luck trying to keep them out of your settlements then. Might as well just tie someone to a poll as a sacrifice to try and appease them...

There's an idea here somewhere, I can feel it.

I saw one of them climb the side of a building but it seemed scripted. But if it can do it then you'd think they can make it happen anytime.

The AI is so stupid. I usually stand on something or in a doorway and they refuse to get to me. They'll always run off then come back to slowly die.

Implement electric fences for base building. Problem solved. Say, that's not a bad idea in general. Makes the enemies weaker as they melee it.

I am ashamed to say that this is how I beat a Savage Deathclaw. I used a small doorway. Hide inside until it backed off, run out and throw down frag mines, then dash back into the doorway as it charged. Ka-boom! Rinse and repeat for a total cheesed victory.

I've done this as well, though I didn't think it was at all cheesy. For me, it was a case of "all right, you -----er, let's see how you handle being sniped and mined, ha, don't like it now do you, alpha predator!"

I have had several load-save-game moments when deathclaws have snuck up on me while I was engaged with other enemies, so anytime I get to sneak on them, that's a win in my book.

If deathclaws could climb walls, I think I'd just leave and let them have the Commonwealth.

seeing as most of the settlement attackers spawn in the middle of your settlement..... this would be bad.... seeing as at Abernathy Farm, mine spawn practically inside their house.... stupid spawn system.... so yes, lets spawn deathclaws in the middle of sanctuary inside my walls where none of my turrets are.
