Toronto DLC

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 5:43 pm

I want DLC that takes you up North to Toronto, Canada.
Some of the DLC weapons would be Wood-Cutting Axe, Chainsaws and Hockey-Sticks.
Ushanka hats would be more common, red-flannel shirts and jeans with boots. Armor made from Hockey gear.
Enemies would include Wooly-Deathclaws and Grizzly Yao-Guai.
Entering the icy water without special gear would inflict Cryo-Damage to player and non-arctic enemies such as ghouls.
There would be a city of Super Mutant lumberjacks.
There would also be a different unit of money, since all of the Nuka-Cola exploded when the heat went out and they froze.
(Because of this Nuka-Cola has a double sale price and a triple buy price in Toronto.)
The more irradiated areas would have dirty glowing yellow/green snow and Radiation Storms in Toronto would inflict Rads AND Cryo-Damage.

Needs more trains, maple syrup, french Canadians, poutine and Bacon.

EDIT: Canadian Geese. Let's do something with those too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Canada is doing much better than America or China. Sure Canada will get its share of radiation and mutants due to its proximity to America, but very few bombs should have dropped on Canada. Maybe a few bombs on American bases in Canada, but no major attacks on cities since a bomb dropped on a Canadian city is one less bomb dropped on an American target. Europe, Africa, and Australia should be areas that have very minimal damage caused by the Great War.

America annexed Canada, and as the site with American active military activity it would have been a likely target. And there were enough nukes to kill everyone and their pets at the height of the Cold War so never assume anywhere was safe from it, particularly considering climate precipitated nuclear fallout. Seriously read up on American targeting for soviet Russia by strategic command prior and during Mcnamara. There would be 2 or 3 nukes assigned to target a single bridge or electrical pylon there were so many.

I like this. I'm still not sure what I want the currency to be. I thought "Hockey Pucks" but they seem to cumbersome... The whole reason I posted is so that people could expand on the idea. :foodndrink:

if they only dropped three bombs in every province it would wipe us out. lol Our population is 1/10 the USA and we are 98% the size of Europe in landmass. And with 81% of our population living in urban centres it wouldn't take much to totally devastate Canada with just a few bombs. What would probably do well is the wildlife as there would be less radiation being so massive with a small population and prevailing winds such that most of the radiation from the USA wouldn't come north, with the prairies being the exception during the summer.

There would be far less ghouls as we just don't have the radiation nor the population pre war to create this endless supply and if supermutants need people to create more of themselves then again not many of those because we just don't have the population. I'm not sure Canada is the best setting for a Fallout game to be honest.

My idea for the Super Mutants would be that they would be generally peaceful, travelling North from NCR territory after the destruction of the Master almost 100 years earlier. They travel Northward for years until they (unknowingly) cross borders into Canada and eventually come across an abandoned lumber mill and convert it into a small town. The premise would be that the enemy only targeted the US military bases in Canada, so most everything else is untouched. Even some areas with clean water. Another reason there would be a somewhat sustainable population is Canada being seen as a promised land for Wastelanders and easy pickins' for Raiders.

Wherever I go for in the DLC I want to be able to create my own faction.

Yeah, I feel like the whole "Create-A-Faction" thing would be more of a Hearthfire type of DLC. Less radical than leaving the country.

As a Canadian I agree with all of this... except maybe the francophones... :)

Europe please. Or China as previously suggested. No offense to Canada but it would seem very boring besides the hometown feel for you guys. We've already done a winter DLC in Anchorage and it was alright. I'd like to see how the other side of the world dealt with the apocalypse.

Maybe it's a civil war kind of thing!

But in all seriousness, I'm with the poster above. I'd like to see a dramatically different location like China instead of more of the same kind of stuff we have now.

Canadian Raiders. They'll try to kill you but only if you're ok with it.

Canada is more than a winter wonderland fyi.. we have a rather large variance of environments within our borders (heck, we even have deserts)..

aside from that, the heavy cultural stereotypes in the first 2 posts somewhat offends me

Honestly, my rationale was that if he's going to stereotype us with hockey pucks, bears and lumberjacks, I might as well help him out.. you know.. being from Toronto and all..

If I'm not mistaken, Toronto DOES in fact still exist in the FO world, and is known as "The Ronto".

EDIT: Yes, we DO put maple syrup on damn near everything. There is a good reason for this: it's freaking delicious. Don't knock it till ya try it.

Whether your serious or not about the syrup, I have tried it and I don't knock it. It's awesome. Maple syrup and Scrappel.

Mmmm...scrapple. Come to Philadelphia and complete the Revolutionary War heritage picture.

Alberta and Saskatchewan would totally be NCR territories though. Ye Haw!
