Got a bit of a problem moving a settler.

Hi everyone.

I'm pretty sure I know how to manage settlers and supply lines but I've hit a snag. I assigned one of the original two settlers of Greentop Nursery to a supply line, intending to assign her back to her garden after I'd finished building up a nearby settlement and didn't need to have them connected. The problem is she no longer come into the green boundary of Greentop Nursery. She stops at the same place just a little ways away, then turns around and heads off again.

I cancelled the supply line alright by waiting at the other settlement and re assigning her there, but I cannot move her. The Move button (square) is greyed out and I get a message saying this 'settler cannot be moved from this settlement' when I try. So how do I get her back to Greentop?

Thanks everyone.

Maybe your game just derping. You know it happens.

My best suggestion would be to stealth kill her, preferably outside the settlement area. Then turn on your recruitment beacon to get someone to replace her.

This is the only real suggestion I could come up with. Once settlers have been assigned to the provisioner role, they seem to be a little buggy if you change their assignment. For one, they seem to always hold the title 'provisioner' even after being reassigned.

Honestly though, settlers are replaceable. Is there any particular reason that you want this specific settler back?

Original Settlers can't be moved. So Finch Farm, Abernathy, County Crossing, Oberland, Greentop, Tenpines, Greygarden, the Slog and Nordhagen all come with perma-Settlers.

Note that unnamed Settlers can be killed. Not the kid at Nordhagen, tho - just stuck with him.

Build a bell and ring it.

In my experience if they are in earshot they will even turn around and come back to the settlement.

Any kids can't be hit and pickpocketed in this game.

But I heard that if the so-called "parents" dead, the kid(s) will be gone/fled.

I did a little of this to fix some of the mess my supply lines had become- you can kill them without any negative consequences as long as you're out of sight of any of your settlements and you don't have a companion with you that will dislike the act- it does show up as a 'murder' in your stats, if you're keeping score.

I notice something like this happens with my provisioner from red rocket stops and turns before entering Abernathy. It was happening because it couldn't find the entrance (2 feet to the left). I removed some of the wall and it would enter the build area.
