Whats the point of this settlement, just to have a place to go and be alone?

I've never used it, but why can't you get settlers there? Can't build a beacon or move them from another settlement?

I used that place just to scrap for steel. When you get a lemon, make lemonade. There are several couches that will give you about 50 steel. Not a lot, but it may help. There are other settlements where I only scrap and never build.

If you go all out for the Brotherhood, it just gives you a place to build that's immediately adjacent to the Prydwen. Part of the reason that you can't establish it as a full settlement is that

Spoiler
if you destroy the brotherhood or turn the Brotherhood hostile toward you, you can no longer use this as a location because it's either in hostile territory...or covered with the burning wreckage of the Prydwen.

By the way, I love your screen name. Is IS a Grateful Dead reference and not a reference to something else, yes?

It's primarily there for a quest, not as a community.

You can send settlers there by going to another settlement and moving a settler to the airport. I have a couple of them living there (one whom I made a supply line provisioner) in my first character's game. I was able to find a spot to install a water pump and they get food through the supply line.

You can use it after you destroy the Brotherhood. I didn't use it before so not sure if that makes a difference.

I use the airport for water production and six person settlement. I get plenty of purified waters and the settlers make a decent amount of money through the shops. Food was a bit tricky but there is just enough ground revealed just off of the pavement to feed the six settlers there.

Can you? I've honestly never really done anything there anyway. I just assumed you couldn't. I'm in a new play through currently, and I'm a long way from that. I might try doing a bit more with it this time.

Where is the workshop at the airport? I don't recall ever seeing it. I just wandered in though, wasn't quest related at all.

It's at the west end closest to town. Look for a lot of chairs. It doesn't have a large amount of workshop memory so you'll be limited. But it's not that large of a area so that doesn't matter.

I HAVE DONE IT!

Sorry for caps, but I like living at the air base. Now I do have lots of build mods so mine will look quite different, but still. I found I needed to have a Town Bell to call them to me. However I noticed that they always like sitting up on the top deck thing as i have circled.
They are technically a part of both the Prydwen and the Base.

Looks good!
How did you build the caravans? Is that a magazine perk that allows you to build caravans from the workshop? Thanks

Spoiler
Yeah The Prydwen doesn't crash into the Settlement area.
I think I had to reactivate the workbench afterwards though.

I see. I've done all four of the endings, but my main ending that I actually still have saved is the BoS ending. I've never actually explored that general area much after the end of the game.

I got a few settlers stuck inside a locked room, but luckily a bell ring and a nap got them unstuck. I don't really use it, but I'm hoping it will let me put some artillery there.
