Bethesda: Give us cheats or Give us Sandbox

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2016 1:02 am

BETHESDA NEEDS TO STOP FIXING CHEATS OR GIVE US THE CONTROL WE WERE PROMISED.

Bethesda said it would allow us console gamers to control the game like PC gamers. When you go on youtube and see these marvelous citadel settlements you notice that they're often done with exploits and when you see these people with massive amounts of ammo you notice it was also done with exploits. Now I would like to say its great to fix things that are an INCONVENIENCE to players, but not so when it's convenient. You should wait for the convenient glitch patches until AFTER you've come out with the sandbox for consoles.

Bethesda, if your worried about degredations in performance due to settlement size, just tell us and give us the option to degrade frames per second or graphics in the settings bar with a "how far?" prompt at which point you use your anolog stick inward and outward.

They didn't.

Mods will come eventually, relax and stop playing the game till then if you need your cheats

No, they promise that they try to give console the same freedom to use mods as the pc version...there been no promise of anything else.

They meant by the modding community i think. Instead of just PC being able to download all these cool mods, they're allowing console players to download all these cool mods. Someone might mod a command bar lol

The biggest issue is that consoles are not as powerful as a dedicated gaming PC. Building a massive settlement on a console by using mods to remove the default settlement size limit is likely to just crash your game on console.

Bethesda never said they would give control like on PC. They said there would be mods available on console. That means they will make some (I'm doubtful of all) mods available for console. They have not even released the modding tools as of yet and aren't expected to until after the first of the year so until those modding tools are released for pc you won't be able to get the mods. And I don't think you will be able to mod on a console.

We don't allow platform or console bashing here. I suggest you don't do that in the future.

Yes but PC is awesome if you like making mods or putting a ton of mods into your game. The consoles probably won't have the juice for the bigger mods.

i think the only cheat codes i've ever used in a video game are:

the nintendo one, up up down down...blah blah

'lim' - wolfenstien

and i think the one for money in the original Sim City and maybe Sim City 2...

and that's about it xD; dont understand why people feel the need to cheat in their own 1 player game xD

i might have used one for guns or whatever in GTA to go on 5 min rampage then revert to saved game xD

It is possible to create a console mod that duplicates the same effect as tgm. Have no idea if it is possible to duplicate tcl as well.

Obviously not every pc mod will be available as a console mod. Mods that require Script Extenders will not be possible unless someone can create a Script Extender Mod. Then there is the mods that Sony and Microsoft won't allow like Iron Man mods for your Power Armor and advlt mods.

A rather sweeping statement! Some gamers have a life outside of gaming you know? =P For most of those people consoles are just fine.

I'm a heavy advocate of PC gaming. But the level of arrogance it gives some people simply astounds me. I don't see the need for it, but then again I am not insecure.

The main problem with modding on consoles is that a lot of the better mods will not be allowed due to copyright or other reasons, Todd Howard has said they will not allow any 'advlt' Mods on consoles. Well that's just over half of the modding community unhappy with that one.

Texture mods, Crafting/Building mods, weapons and armour, that's the kind of thing we are likely to see the most of on Consoles.

I'd personally like to see the settlement building expanded on extensively, with the base they have created it could be shaped into something truly remarkable.

They never did that.

What they promised is that they'll bring mods to the consoles. Anything else, like what types of mods will be possible, how many, or if often required third party software like script extenders or load order sorters will be made available, has not been specified.

They have never ever promised to bring console commands to the consoles. And it's extremely unlikely they ever will. For F4 at least.

I think they may have actually specified that they will indeed NOT be bringing console commands to consoles. Not 100% but I think I remember reading that somewhere.

Huh? I don't own a console, so I don't like playing games? I'm confused.

Yeah the whole PC master race, and console peasants thing is getting rather old. Just choose the platform that is best for you and play games.

I used to use cheat codes but then I took and arro... er... no I mean then I kind of ruined my experience in Quake II. With cheat codes it just became boring. Never used cheat codes since except on a few occasions when figuring something out or when mucking about.

That said, I do prefer to play these types of game on PC simply because of the availability of mods and the Command Console, being able to get rid of those pesky dead bodies everywhere is like a gift from heaven, also gave a caravan guard that for some reason was running around in her underwear some new clothes. I'd go bonkers if I had to play this on console and didn't have that amount of control.
