i recently noticed that my xbox one automatically deleted the message i got with the code for fallout 3 when i preordered fallout 4. i didnt realize that until a few days ago that xbox one automatically deletes messages still, & because of that i lost my fallout 3 code which i didnt save or write down anywhere. is there anything that can be done about that?

It should have been send to an email address linked to the Live! Account. Open the email with a PC.

nope only got an xbox live message with the code. besides i digitally bought fallout 4

Contact Xbox Live support, they may be able to resend the message.

already did that before making this post. they told me to contact bethesda

Did you contact Bethesda then. This forum is not official means to contact Bethesda. I don't see why Xbox Live support cannot resend the message. Obviously, they can see account history and digital transactions.
