Diamond City Radio stopped playing

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 6:24 am

I'm about 60 hours in and suddenly noticed that my music had stopped. I checked the Pipboy and saw that it was tuned to Diamond City, but nothing doing. I switched to the Classical and Silver Shroud and both worked just fine. Switched back to Diamond City, and silence. Anyone else experience anything like this?

I've been tweaking graphics settings after experiencing major lag in the urban areas but nothing that should effect sound. I did download some louder ambient effects mods (namely louder birds, louder rain) but installed those 20 hours ago. I only noticed this during the "Freedom Trail" quest.

Again, all sounds and music work just fine, except Diamond City Radio.

Much obliged. I couldn't seem to find anything good on the Steam forums, but you nailed it. I'll muck around with some fast travel with the radio off/on, and see if I can get my tunes back.

So sitting down and wait for 24 hours fix it for some.

While other say fast travel another location while the radio is off or different channel.

In my case it turn on after real life 60 minutes while the radio was on the channel all that time which scared me at the time cause I had raised the volume loud to hear the environment's sounds.

Wiki says:

For unknown reasons the radio station will bug and stay silent (other stations will work just fine) even if you are in range of the transmission.

To solve this, sleep or wait for a period of 24 hours and it'll go back to normal.

I think Travis was taking a day off. I turned the radio off, fast traveled to a settlement, and then continued the game long enough to clear out a Raider hideout. Turned the radio back on and everything was playing just fine.
