Commonwealth less dangerous than it was 2 months ago?

For a while now, I've been noticing some things missing from the game, that were in it back in the first weeks. Namely, quite a few enemies. I distinctly remember more than a few locations where you could always anticipate running into enemy patrols coming and going, which made travelling/sneaking about more interesting and dangerous. For quite a while now, I never see those patrols in those particular locations anymore. Regardless of the level of the char, or what point in a runthrough I am in those areas. I can only believe that Beth must have pruned some of the enemies out of the game, maybe thinking there were just too many of them for some newbies to handle? :shrug:



Anyone else notice fewer enemy patrols and mobs in some areas, since the early days? Not talking about all areas, some still have plenty of patrols and such- but I know some that definitely used to be there, that no longer are.

I may be completely wrong, but it seems if you completely avoid areas for a few days they will then respawn, but if you continuously revisit the same area after clearing it won't happen. So, maybe try avoiding it for a few days?

I wish I felt that way. Can't tell you how annoying it is to hear the sound of mininukes beeping when I fast travel to Mladen or around the Milton Hospital area.

Your suggestion does not apply. I am not constantly revisiting the places in question. It does not matter what amount of time is waited before revisiting them, 2 hours or 2 weeks- those particular remembered patrols simply no longer appear in those spots, ever. Period. Beth has removed them from the game since the early days, quite obviously.

Don't know about the enemies thing but I haven't see that little girl and sentry bot combi since before the first patch.

Well yeah, the Malden/Fallon's intersection is one of the major mahem-vortexes in the game, we all know where those are. :ahhh: Where you can always count on having a good time and filling lots of body bags. What I'm referring to are a handful of more remote and unsung spots that I remember from the start of the game two months ago. I am a thorough scout, and it took me more than a week to sneak and quest through the entire northwest corner of the map, before I even tackled the Corvega plant. And I know the map, and I knew all the patrols and their routes, and when and where to hide from or ambush them. And some of them just aren't there anymore. Sometime in the last month, they were simply deleted by Beth. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed any of these enemy bye-byes.

I have this Problem to. It must be a Bug or something. Some Areas respawn very fast and some not even after Weeks. I just hope Bethesda can find this Problem.

It hasn't happened like that in my game.


If i walk around the Financial District all the enemies respawn after having previously cleared them out.



Same with the caravan route between Jamaica plain and the Marina.



Same with the known enemy bases.



I still see the "random" patrol encounters at the usual spawn points.



Same with the other spawn points near the checkpoints.


Random foes spawn when I'm close and haven't been there for a while.

Some of them are now manned in my game by the Minutemen but they are slowly being wiped out by superior foes and aren't being replaced.


For other players who, like me, have finished the main game I presume they are manned by other factions.





Same with those campsites where the "random" encounters occur after 8.00 pm.


Either a group of mutants, a trader, rabid dogs, radroaches, raiders, gunners or nothing whatsoever turn up.

It might be that some roaming enemies don't re-spawn, also at various stages the game changes, bos arives and you get bos patrols who might replace some enemies and kill of others.


You find the institute and synts become friendly.



Its also either scripted or random events like the toy factory who has an chance of an three way fight between bos, gunners and supermutants.

No BoS patrols ever, in the places I'm thinking of. And it doesn't seem to matter if I'm playing a fresh level 3 character or a level 73 character- I just don't see certain enemies anymore, that used to be in specific places. Dey gone. It's not a huge impact on gameplay, just something I noticed in my travels.
