Enclave not using brute force for purifier code

Post » Sun Mar 13, 2016 12:21 pm

While thinking on which dweller to send out to the wasteland on Fallout Shelter app, the thought of why the Enclave didn't use brute force to activate the purifier in Fallout 3.

Hackers sometimes use brute force aka guessing the password of users in various sites and it sometimes works. Why not Enclave tried it out?

They have John Henry Eden at their disposal and Adams Air Force Base which has a lot of computing power. Or the old fashion way of Colonel Autumn pressing all of the possible combinations and then on goes the purifier.

Did Project Purity had a combination after this number of guesses the purifier fail to start anymore or go boom?

I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I couldn't find it in the search function.

It's never really said if there's any kind of protection on whether or not it can be brute-forced, but that's also the kind of thing you would keep hidden. It's also a pretty basic type of protection, so I think it's fair to believe that they didn't try brute forcing it under the assumption that there was a failsafe against brute forcing, especially since James at that point already killed himself while irradiating the control chamber or whatever just to keep it out of Enclave hands.
