No robot vendors?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 11:34 pm

This svcks, you can assign robots to a shop but talking triggers the recruiting dialogue instead of shopping. Even though there are a few robotic vendors across the wastes.

Wanted to make a gun runner booth at a settlement I didn't use.

Meh. Settlers need to have at least one advantage over the bots.

I use extra bots for defense/guards. The ghouls and humans are farmers and merchants.

I tried to assign Codsworth to be a bartender (ala Charlie from Goodneighbor) but while I got the "this resource has been assigned" message and Codsworth said "Okay" he never actually took position. I haven't dabbled with new-robot-creation.... if they can be treated like Settlers, do they still require food, water, and a bed? Looks like they would be ideal "Settlers" for Boston Airport, eg.

I would guess its because they're companions and companions can't run shops.

I hadnt even thought about that, it totally would be cool to have a robo bar tender.

Surely it was an oversight.

But then why let us assign them to vendor booths? And why let them generate money. That's right...you can't buy stuff from them when they are assigned to a booth however they generate income to tha work bench.

Test it like I did. Go to an empty settlement make a bot and a booth and assign it...then wait....money will show up in tha work bench just like with human settlers.

Risky... I wouldn't want ghouls touching my carrots.

seems odd, that you could assign them to a stand but won't bring up the barter menu :|

Yeah I was a bit disappointed by that. They make great guards though and they are effective farmers and provisioners though. One of my Abernathy Farm files is pretty much a new Greygarden lol.

I think it's a bug, I'm not sure though but I believe being able to make robots a vendor was in the game but something is stopping it from working right (I mean, you can assign them as the vendor so that had to be intentional)
