The first character you'll take into the new Survival mode?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 3:12 pm

This mode is all about micromanagement and efficiency (from what I can tell) that being said the only 2 SPECIALS that have an accumulative bonus are END and INT (HP + XP/A) That being said I will go for them along with Idiot Savant at start and build up my charisma from there to farm xp to level 10 before I even leave Red Rocket.

My perks to aim for are Settlement management, 2 crafting perks, Medic, Resistances

If I must start new game with new survival mode, I probably won`t start until all DLCs are out.

S-9, P-3, E-2, C-1, I-2, A-9, L-2

A bit different than my standard melee build, based around new Survival considerations. Bobble + You're SPECIAL get PER to 5 for Demolitions Expert asap, and unless a straight DPS upgrade is available, take whatever is best for filling in survival blanks. I have tons of ideas on that, but would probably adjust real time depending on where I am with settlements, gear, weapons, etc.

S - 6 (strong back)

P - 1 (I'm a little worried about lock picking but I suppose I could always go and grab Cait or build a robot for it)

E - 3 (just 3 for now for live giver, I'll be able to get into chem resistant after the bobble head)

C - 6 (I can't even imagine trying this mode without local leader)

I - 10 (XP! I plan on doing the DLC right at 15 so robots! I've never started out with nerd rage before but I feel like it could be a life saver here)

A - 1 (I don't really see me needing any of this early on. Bobble head will get me to commando if I need it)

L - 1 (I don't use VATS. I'll most likely put my you're special point here for scrounger and that will allowed access to bloody mess after the bobble head)

Can you do that? From what I read on Reddit, to start the mode you need to make a new character. Then the character is locked to that difficulty.

OT: I'm going to make a character named "Mr Assman" and take this new mode head on.

His stats will be-

S-1

P-5

E-10

C-1

I-5

A-1

L-1

I had a complete new character planned, with a different playstyles than I usually play and with a quite long backstory (I like roleplaying my characters). Unfortunately I can't use mods with the new beta so i'll definitely won't be doing that now. No way I can go bak to vanilla.

If you want lockpicking you could drop int by 1 & raise perception to 2.

SPECIAL book at the start: Perception +1 now at 3

Both Int and Perception bobble heads are easy to get near the start of the game.

Perception - 4

Intelligence - 10

Enough Perception for lockpicking

Enough Int for Nerd Rage.

I'm a little worried about the new damage modifications. So I might do something I've never played as and go a sneak based build utilizing adrenaline and sneak damage modifications.

Although I do really like that all the endurance perks will be a ton more important. So a high endurance build will definitely be in the cards at some point. Adamantine skeleton is gonna be very useful.

I'm leaning towards

S 3

P 3

E 4

C 7

I 9

A 1

L 1

I'll be focusing on Party Boy and Chemist as loosing my family drives me to drink and use any drugs I can find to forget. I'll also be using power armor to make up for low strength and help survive this horrible world I've found myself in, I'll take the Nuclear Physicist perk to make cores last longer so I never have to leave my suit. I'll use the special book on Charisma and take the Inspirational perk as well. I like the idea of being everyone's drunk friend.
