Post » Sat Jul 16, 2016 4:42 am

Hello, my laptop hard drive broke and I had to get a new one. Lost everything. Can you guys recommend me some mods? Not any type of mod. Just good mods for Oblivion.

You could just google "Oblivion graphics 2016". There a few guides out there. Don't be put off by authors with 970 [email protected] as their CPU + graphics card rig. I'm running the following with a laptop's 820M + [email protected], and I get constant 30fps until I went with Grass Overhaul. I took a 6~8 fps hit, and it now runs at 22~24 fps.

I actually like Oblivion's standard leveling system, so I didn't bother with leveling mods like OOO or AF.

1.) Oblivion Reloaded +ENB: just make some adjustments to make it work. By default, you can only sleep on beds but that can be switched off. Personally, I also use other water and grass textures, so I turned those shaders off. OR's shaders seem to have conflicts with other mods, and some of the issues I have encountered are missing grass and water.

ENB has a few presets, and I'm using Tweaked personally.

2.) OBMM. Create OMODs and manage mods.

3.) Ultimate Landscapes.

4.) QTP3. I did not use the redimized version as I could not create an OMOD, and my laptop runs the original fine in the first place. Your mileage may vary.

5.) All 3 unofficial patches: vanilla, DLC and Shivering Isles

6.) Stutter Remover, if you don't mind 30fps cap. Honestly, I can play even with 20+ fps, so I'm good with this.

7.) Grass Overhaul - this will hit your fps hard. Do back up vanilla's textures as outlined in the readme before you install this, as there is no going back even if you disable the .esp!

8.) Download a few water mods and try them out. I'm using Realistic Water 3.0.

9.) Animated Lighting Window System. Awesome city views at night!

10.) Darknified Dark UI. You can change the HUD's size and position. You need these to make the changes permanent:

i.) pluggy

ii.) DarkNifiedUI Config

11.) Character Overhaul v2.

12.) Elven Map Redux

13.)Natural Environments

I agree with most of these.

If you prefer some "newer" mods to go use, there's a mod called "http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/46984/?" which can be used instead of OCO v2 (I prefer the latter to the former, but to each their own).

http://obse.silverlock.org/ should be downloaded as well, and make sure to grab the most recent loader as well :3

Though not a necessity, if you have DLC, you can grab a http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47048/? like the one I put out a couple days ago. http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/11474/? is the most popular one that I've seen, and I list another on my DL page. There're perks and "problems" with each, so it might be good to try 'em all :3

You can also grab a body replacer, http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/40532/? is the only real male body replacer, and there are many different female body replacers. Some mods require them, but again, it isn't necessary.

If you're in the mood for an overhaul, you can grab http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/42780/?, though some people will tell you http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/46199/? is just as good. The currentmost version of OOO Is harder to find, and tends to be less compatible, but there are more AddOns and goodies with OOO. I think it is possible to load both, but I've never done it before...

I really enjoy http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/41348/? personally, though there are a few other mods which are similar as well.

Also, many mods (though the number isn't really increasing much) have a dependency on http://www.theassimilationlab.com/forums/files/file/951-cobl/. I'd grab it just to be safe, though :)

That's all I can think of putting up atm, but there are thousands of mods out there, so there are bound to be many enjoyable ones that don't get much attention :3
