makes diseases a hassle

Post » Thu Sep 01, 2016 6:21 pm

I'm searching for a mod or a combination of mods to make disease more than a line being written top left; something the player has to be scared about, but not frustrated. Is there anyone that can help me?

Combine Maskar's overhaul (http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/42780/?) and Haldars mod Pack (http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/36399/?) and you will have not only the whole disease mechanism expanded, but I much richer Oblivion experience. And the best thing about it is that both mods are highly configurable throught their respective .ini documents.

I agree.

To make the diseases more difficult to cure when using alchemy you can use my alchemy overhaul which makes the Cure Disease much more rare. See my siggy for link.

MOO alone can strike mortal terror into a player's heart. Once, going through the tutorial with MOO, the first three rats you face (the two that burst through the wall and the one on the other side) all carried airborne diseases. Yowzers! My poor character came down with two diseases before the game was even five minutes old

Fixed that for you.

That said, I've never been able to use VECTOR correctly - it always gives me a series of OBSE errors in the console, so I am not sure if it works anymore. Anyone else have reports?

lol

sorry my bad :P

Thx for correction, Ani :)

me too, never use Vector

I reference that mod to answer thread OP's request

my tweaking & modding still not touch anything about disease thingy

so I can't say much about this

moreover Vector is using OBSE, I don't have any knowledge about OBSE plugin scripting for Oblivion

Well, the House of Healing at Weye covers that (http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/30964/?), but it's more of a (very good) quest mod.

That reminds me using one of the earliest incarnations of MOO. The locked chest of the tutorial was trapped and, of course with no securtiy skill and low health, killed me right away and I went to rant to his mod comments page "WHAT THE HELL, MASKAR!?!". :swear:

Good memories.

I also had very huge trouble with Vector when I tried. (even if maybe I didn't tried the last version but the 0.3 one)

Also the visuals are incompatible with Oblivon Reloaded.

I haven't tried vectotr properly either. I've always used the old but good Pestilent Afflictions http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/5172/?

(With my own changes to greatly diversify the various diseases).

On the topic of diseases one has to mention Oblivifall - Losing My Religion, since that mod removes the Cure Disease efffect from wayshrines and makes the curing of diseases a more immersive method.

Dennai, when you said this

remind me of my own anolysis about : File of the Month

October 2012 rank 2. Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul1 ---> 3 votes

December 2015 rank 3. AoG Overhaul plus Detect Item ---> 6 votes

somehow my mod AoG and MOO start with bugfest

bug everywhere and users provide bug report like endlessly !! hahaha

that's when everything changed

some people back off because think the mod is unstable or harmful

and from my deduction ... that's why the vote is not at its max potential

imagine if me and Maskar release publish the mod like present state

so stable ... and rich of nifty features

oh man...

good ol ' time

hmm I see....

from all of your inputs

we can say Vecor is still in bugfest

Not even the latest update (0.4)? That ought to have fixed the script errors and what not.

I looked back at thehttp://www.gamesas.com/topic/1107910-rel-vector/page-5, and it seems I reported having some slowdowns with Vector v0.4 back in 2013. I cannot recall if I ever could consistently reproduce them.

That is why it would be good to know if others have recent experiences with Vector, as the mod is so promising.

I had issues too in the past with Vector, but I didn't report them because I thought you just stopped working on it because it was like a tin of worms, every time you opened it many would try to flee.
