Actor-inventory-refreshing circumstances

I noticed that enabling a disabled actor reference or resurrecting it have the side effect of refreshing that actor's inventory, giving them a new set of items as defined in their base forms, and causing them to lose any items not defined there.

?I was wondering if these are the only ways for an actor to have its inventory refreshed this way, or if there are other specific circumstances when this would happen. I want to emphasise I'm interested in any kind of triggering circumstances, not just scripting-related ones.
