Reccomended Mod Setup in 2016

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2016 12:26 pm

Having just recently got a new super powerful gaming computer,I have been wanting to go through all the Bethesda Softworks Games all with mods many for the first time. But I will be starting with an old standby,Morrowind.

So I was wondering what are some of the recommended mod setups in 2016 ?

I was considering using Morrowind Rebirth, but it makes some changes I don't care for and includes some non lore-friendly stuff like tree ents, flesh eating slimes and Mimics. When I comes to modding I try to stay as close to lore as possible.MNEM the other major gameplay overhaul also makes changes that I really don't care for.So I think I am gonna count those two out.

One question I have is MGSO Yay or Nay.I have used it before on my much less powerful computer albeit with out the graphics extender and like it quite a bit.Though I do know that a lot of its components are out dated.I was considering using it at foundation and updating outdated mods, patches, utilities and further customizing my install by replacing some its choices. For example getting rid of Golden Gold and grabbing Shiny Septims instead.

Also what are the reccomended setting for MGE XE for the best effect.I also happy that I will finally be able to use the script extender and its mods, because I couldn't use MGE XE on my old pc because it would make the game chug. Plus I had to use FPS Optimizer to launch the game in order to play in widescreen with the correct FOV.

In case anyone asks here is my specs

If I were you I would probably skip MGSO due for being outdated as you said and only use mods you are familiar with.

For example, I always use http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1579602-rel-uviriths-legacy-34/ since I cannot play Morrowind without it, but now and then I also have http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1609592-tamriel-rebuilt-the-official-thread-3/ installed.

I also use other mods that I've used for a long time like Arthmoor's two Morrowind mods along with one of Tealpanda's mods.

I usually don't mess with MGE-XE too much and only use the default settings. Sometimes I've used a different shader setup then the pre-set setup, but I always make sure I don't use a setting that aren't recommended.

Using MSGO as a base and then customizing is the best way to go unless you want to manually install everything yourself.
