ESO, Morrowind: Who is the Redguard, and the Centurion?

Post » Wed Feb 01, 2017 5:12 pm

So, today the cinematic trailer for the next expansion of ESO was announced, Morrowind.

In the trailer we got to see a character that is currently unknown to me, so my bet is that it's the Vestige. Then again, I could be terribly wrong, and since this is the lore forum, I wondered if maybe I missed something in ESO regarding a Redguard.

The second point is that, at the end of the trailer, we see a giant Dwarven Centurion, since the expansion takes place on Vvardenfell, do you think it might be the Numidium? It's the first thing that came to my mind.

Man, that's gonna be legit. Great trailer. Getting me hyped.

I highly doubt that the Redguard is supposed to be the Vestige. I'm guessing it is an ally of the Morag Tong, given the voice at the end saying (presumably to a Morag Tong member) that Morrowind needs the Morag Tong and any allies that they have. My bet is that it is someone involved with whatever the main storyline for Vvardenfell is. But perhaps it is a stand-in for the player character just for the trailer.

I think you are looking too much into the Dwarven Centurion. Numidium is far bigger than that, and it can't be resurrected without the Mantella anyways, which there is no reason to believe is on Vvardenfell. And if it was Numidium, that Dunmer and Redguard would've been wiped out easily.

We're eras prior to the Mantella, but ESO has given different excuses for lore (prime example: Cyrodiil not being a jungle). And we didn't really see it in combat either, all we saw was it using some kind of fire attack that disintegrated some Dunmer noble. Either way, I think it could be the Numidium, especially since it's nothing like your common centurion; it has canons or something in his hands.

The Redguard seems to just be the depiction of the new Class.

Although, we very likely could meet him in-game as an important NPC.

The Numidium is much larger. I'll eat my shoe if that is supposed to be the Numidium.

It is named "The Dwarven Colossus" and it's the boss of the new Trial dungeon.

official synopsis =

Spoiler

Morrowind is in dire peril and it’s up to player heroes to help Vivec, the legendary warrior-poet and Guardian of Vvardenfell, solve the mystery of his mysterious illness, regain his strength – and save the world from ultimate destruction.

Spoiler

To Stop the Moon: The Shrine of Daring

When Sheogorath rebelled against the Tribunal, he tricked the moon Baar Dau into forsaking its appointed path through Oblivion. The Mad Star inspired the moon to hurl itself upon Vivec's new city, which Sheogorath claimed was built in mockery of the heavens. When Vivec learned of Sheogorath's scheme, he froze the rogue moon in the sky with a single gesture and the grace of his countenance.

As Vivec city is still under construction, and Baar Dau was sent by Sheogorath to destroy the city, yet we see Baar Dau in the trailer and images. Therefore i believe we will help Vivec stop Baar Dau.

The http://i.imgur.com/ewPyN7N.jpg originally appeared in the data files for the Clockwork City DLC, as part of an "assembly line" in said location. Definitely not Numinium, but maybe not originally Dwemeri either.
