Your Consumer Rights (UK)

Anyone effected by the issues causing their Fallout New Vegas to be unusable and would like to be refunded (alternatives of repair or replacement not applicable) for your costs should first contact Bethesda stating your issues and how they violate the Sale And Supply of Goods To Consumers Regulation 2002.

If Bethesda are unwilling to adhere to the regulations, you should then contact the Trading Standards Institution: http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/index.cfm or Consumer Direct for Help and Advice: http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/

Your UK Consumer Rights:

When you buy goods from a trader you enter into a contract which is controlled by many laws including the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended by the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 and the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002). The law gives you certain statutory rights, including that the goods are of satisfactory quality, as described and fit for their purpose.

If things go wrong when you purchase goods, you may be entitled to ask for a full refund, compensation, or a repair or replacement. Any guarantee provided is extra to your rights under the Sale of Goods Act. - Trading Standards Institution.

Unless you bought the game through Bethesda, I would assume you should seek redress from the retailer instead.

One problem with this. All Bethesda, Obsidian or Zenimax has to say is "It could be your hardware". As for using this against the retailers, well... it's not their fault, they just sell the merchandise, they have no control over its quality.

I'm not saying that it's a waste of time to try and get your money back, just being realistic about your chances.
