Trying to use the NVSE and every time I try to run the game it tells me that I need to update to the latest version of Fallout, I open steam but no update happens and I'm still on version 1.0...anyone know what might be going on?

Have you turned Steam off and then restarted it? That'll usually force any updates to get downloaded (so long as you've got 'keep this game updated' checked in its properties box).

I did restart it yes but still got nothing, I'm reinstalling it to see if that has any effect...one thing I did notice though, the NV launcher when i held the mouse over it it read version 1.2.14.0 (something like that) but the FalloutNV.exe was version 1.0.0.240 shouldn't they be the same of is that normal?
