[REQ] Levels past 30---not for skills/perks just for keeping

Post » Tue Dec 07, 2010 1:28 am

I just hit level 30.

I like getting XP.

It would be nice if a mod that doubled/tripled the XP requirements would let you continue to level. no gains in skills/hit points or perks. no increase in hp or whatever. the current higher level mods will probably kill gameplay balance. so I don't want those.

i don't like killing things and not getting xp. I do like the challenges that keep going, that is nice.

alternatively, maybe a mod where you got no skills/hp/ but you did get perks every two levels. I just hit 30 and if I had managed my character just one perk differently, I could have gotten SNIPER. it would be nice to. maybe if you actually get perks it would take triple the normal XP to level. so basically if you hit level 30, and then earned the XP that in some level cap mods made you a real bad ass level 36 with all those skills and hp boosts, you would instead have just earned 1 perk.

Actually, what would be nice is if every level after 30 you could shift maybe half a level of points around instead of actually gaining anything, just for situations like this. Sure it would be kind of off if you got 100 lockpick, opened all the chests, then got rid of it, but for the most part I think it would be okay. Of course, this would probably be impossible to make dynamically compatible with all the various perk mods, so it's probably not going to happen anyway...

I'm about to go to bed but see if this does anything, make a quest script

scn Level30PlusBegin MenuMode 1027If Player.GetLevel > 30 CloseAllMenusEndIfEnd

I'm assuming the perks + skill points are part of the "LevelUp" menu if not then you'd have to find the appropriate menu code.

so I guess the difficult thing would be changing the levelup screen/process so that it does not give you HP and skills? that might be a bit difficult

     CloseAllMenus

I wish.

CloseAllMenus is console only, not a script command. I just gave it a try.

Man I was hopeful when I saw your post that maybe this command could be scripted in NV. I knew that it could not in FO3. I really want it, I have uses for it.

sigh.
