Replace fast travel with teleportation devices

Like the one from Mothership Zeta. Say there are teleportation devices on each of the major locations, or you have a hand-held teleporter. Maybe you can even teleport to the East Coast?

They should replace fast travel with pneumatic tubes that run all over the wastes... you just climb into the tube and fwwooosh....

And of course this is implying it would replace Fast Travel, but not all the way to tha East Coast.
