Problem that i need help with!

Post » Tue Jan 04, 2011 12:50 pm

OK here is what is happening for me...

When i take a already existing (example) eye glasses or head ware and give them a new ID to create my own with specific enchantments, they end up on the side of the head in-game??
How can that happen when i use the same mesh and everything else isn't changed for the item except ID and enchantment???

You have to go to Character>Update FeceGen model availability, but if I'm not mistaken doing so introduces yet another problem by the NV Geck, and I think it causes ALL headwear in the game to now be sideways. So, you now have to edit something via FNVedit that I'm not sure how to do. I think I read somewhere on here that some gracious folks are working up some tutorials on how to do this in FNVedit but I could be mistaken. Sorry that's not much help but it's a start.

Funny that some have had this in FO3 and not in FNV, and some in FNV but not in FO3? :)

Something then must be wrong with the GECK?

Also sometimes in the rendering window i cant see the whole interior texture only part of it, the rest is gray like the rendering windows background??

Yeah, thats a problem covered in several posts. You have to move the room bound (I think) out of the way and then hit F5 to rerender the window. The best technique is to simply add or subtract 2 or 3 thousand points to the Z axis so it's easy to get it back in exactly the same place when you are done editing.

OK, thanks...Grimstad.

EDIT: Tested it at "Camp Golf Resort" (inside the main building), and still i can only see some floor bits and some NPC's...nothing more??

you have to hit f5 after moving it so it redraws whats on the screen. Thats the only thing I can think of. I've only poked around in a couple cells with this problem but it has worked.

Well done that, hit F5 several times?

Is there some settings in the GECKS own .ini files that needs to be done?
