Freezing in certain areas all the time usually means it's a more common bug than usual I wouldn't start a new game I would just wait do other things and wait for the patch because this so called patch is like this forums messiah. By the way I do t mean to bear bad news but it could be a month.

yo ive found that the game doesnt crash as much without the new patch so if i were you i would take off the patch and then try going in there it might work if not then you'll just have to wait on the next patch which no one knows when that will be out i have a feeling that the devs dont even know when they plan on releasing it

Try playing offline. Not connected to live see if that helps. It seemed to change the results of the problems I had.

Uh-oh.

The whole (original) Xbox "Phillips vs. Samsung" DVD drive issue (that caused a lot of trouble with Morrowind) comes to mind...

I am playing on a Gen 2 and Gen 3 Xbox (old styles) and my brother is on a Xbox-S (new one). He has all of the video related issues and I have none. The video hardware in the Xbox-S is not the same as in the Gen1-3, but I have not noticed any challenges with any other games. Fallout NV seems to crush the Xbox when there is alot of vertical terrain that it has to process. Near Red Rock is the worse. It seems that they even had to cut the strip into three sections to prevent to much verticle mesh from being processed at once.

Try the following:

1) Disband any compaions before attempting to go there.
2) If the game is installled to the hard drive, remove it and play from the disc.
3) Clear your Xbox System Cache and boot the game from Disc to reapply the patch.

By playing from the disc, we eliminated most of these types of challenges.

Oh, and I wouldnt count on getting any help from the game developers. It appears they have all clammed up and are not participating in the discussions.
