I was told that the MegaPistol was at the Crashed Vertibird, when I got to the Vertibird and killed off all the Sentry Bots and Gustys I found a Tesla Cannon, is the Pistol there, or do I need the Wild Wasteland Trait to obtain it?

The DeBug MegaPistol isn't anywhere in the game. It's called a "Debug" pistol because you have to use the Debug Console to get it. The wiki has the item code.
