Its only the old PS3's which have problems, the 160Gb and 320GB will have no problems with lag ir texture.

I don't understand though - the processor is basically the same on all the PS3s right? I don't see why one should be better than another?

Maybe the processor and hardware in the newer PS3's is updated.

Thank god your not playing on the Xbox though, those guys really got screwed over.

Hi, I got a pretty new one that was bundled with Little Big Planet 2, so I think its a slim 320 gb?

See my quick review (another thread), on my experience this morning of PS3 vs Xbox 360. The PS3 version does look better, and I am actually more a fan of Xbox in general because I think xbox live is better than PSN. So I am very impartial!

PS: The water effects on the PS3! :wub:

I just my new PS3 this week with my mobile phone. For those who don't understand in the UK our mobile phone agents, i.e. Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4 U etc have special offers where you get a free gift with a contract mobile phone. So stuff like laptops, TV's, consoles etc. I got the new Blackberry with the 160GB PS3, good deal. Maybe you can do that if its available to you.

The PS3 slim only has a newer processor, it has the same power though, that's all i think there is. I don't think PS3 slim has any new hardware, just new components or such....It's still strange though, it should run equally on all models, let's hope it does : /

The only argument you could make really is that the newer processor generates less heat and therefore runs faster, otherwise they have exactly the same power

I've cleared my hard drive ahead of this - I want it to be as good as possible

Please people don't spread misinformation.
There is absolutely no difference in the performance of the various PS3 SKUs.
People who experience problems with their PS3s must make sure that:
The PS3 is properly vendilated.
They have lots of space on their hard drive. I suggest that 80 GB owners buy a bigger HDD (they are not that expensive and it is installed very easily in seconds)
There is always a possibility that some units are slowly failing. If you have absolutely no problem with other games you are probably ok.

The "lag" I'm experiencing is more like hang ups here and there. Texture pop ins produce these as well. Especially while horseback riding. I'm assuming every version has these issues but you guys aren't as OCD as me.

O, my god

Skyrim lag's like a bad rotting corps. From time till time it is down right unplayable.
When i attack with magic the game freezes for a few seconds. I have died a few times because of the terrible lag.
I mean every attack i make it freezes.

And it freezes when i walk in the world, does not mather were.

I almost killed my controller for it...

Why Bethesda, why did you spoil this game for me.
It is so frustrating. It spoils the game you worked on for so long.
It spoils one of the greates games ever made..

I have a PS3 slim 160 GB less than a year old

Strangely, I have a 5 year old fat PS3 with 80 gb hdd, yet I get no lag at all. Occasionally textures mess up but a reload fixes it.

I have one of the old PS3's - 40gb. I have played for about 90 minutes and I think I noticed maybe one instance of lag. So for anyone that is fearing issues, don't worry about it.

I'm connected to my TV with HDMI and I am very, very happy with the game so far. Looks stunning.

Hey guys I could not be more pleased with this game. At first my experience was a tad choppy and laggy. I tweaked my display settings and removed junk from my hard drive and fixed the issues. Smooth as butter now. If your connected online I suggest to turn off everything automatic in settings on your xmb menu. Turn off display notifications and disable the media scroll bar. Im not sure if this will help anyone but I can say it made my game perfect. I hope everyone has a good time and gets all of their issues worked out.

Also forgot to mention im connected using hd cables on a 720p tv.
