I hope that a companion mod is released soon because neither of the two options is particularly appealing to me.

We haven't even seen the rest of the companions yet.

I would take a third option, but there has yet to be confirmation of a non-human(or mutant human) follower as of yet so shucks. For now, i will side with Raul, because, he is a sidekick name Raul, and he has a personality that was described as: "Like Kiff from Futurama" in an early preview. Thus, making him comedy gold when i go rambling about my acts of glory.

These are not the only two options, so you may not need a mod.

I dunno who I'll choose. It'd be cool if I could have both, plus a companion similar to Dogmeat, so it'd be four of us wolves, running around in the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine.

Can you have both? They involve different quests so what's stopping you from helping both?

I was joking, I don't really care about whether or not I have both, I just felt like making a Hangover reference, they're so easy to make because it's a game set in Las/New Vegas.

I wasn't joking. Can we have both? I don't see why we couldn't they have separate quests so if we complete them we should be able to have both...

I don't know, possibly due to the reasons for having multiple followers in FO3? There wasn't really much conflicting between getting multiple different followers depending on which follower we're talking about in FO3, but I think it's just because they don't want you to have more than one follower (excluding Dogmeat).

Well I don't know how they can blcok you from getting both. Say you do the quest for boone will raul questline be locked and he would just become a regular npc and vice versa?

I assume Raul would just wait wherever he waits until you want to recruit him. So you could hire Boone do his quest/s then fire him and get Raul and do his quest/s. I'm wondering though, since Boone's wife was kidnapped if as part of his quest we rescue her. Will he leave us? I can't see him hanging around after he's got his wife back. Unless of course she's dead or dies during the quest.

If their AI is as stupid as it was in Fallout 3, neither of them.

If their AI is half-decent, which it's rumored to be thanks to the companion wheel allowing one to order them around a bit, I'd probably take Boone as he's a sniper and that fits with my snipe-happy play style.

This question may have been answered. But will companions have karma requirements in this game? Or will it be reputation based, or karma and reputation combined?

I may not even choose a companion, and if I do, it is likely to not be Raul or Boone. I enjoy roaming the wasteland by myself, and when I find a camp, I enjoy picking off all the enemies one by one alone without getting caught. And I'm worried about having a sniper companion, because I enjoy sniping, I don't want him to steal the role that I want to do.

Hmm, ghoul or sniper? That's actually a tough one. I like snipers, but a lot of ghouls are cool and end up being really deep characters. Can't decide.

Not sure, a screenshot showed him with a "camo rifle" on his back, and in one of his lines, he implies that he has a lead pipe.
