Removing the Compass

I've noticed a few people talking about removing the compass for immersion, there's an easy way to do that.

Go into SkyrimPrefs.ini and edit the following string:

bShowCompass=1

to

bShowCompass=0

That should hide the compass from your UI leaving the screen clear of any interface.

I think it's more a case of what's appearing on the compass that ruins the immersion. You know, the 'I'm 500m away from that cave entrance and it's on the other side of a mountain but I still know it's there' problem.

Also, the quest markers are a problem (too much 'hand-holding'. Actually having a basic compass and a map suits most people I think.

It's always good to know how to remove it altogether though so nice one!

I think it could be modded once the CS gets released. The map would just be a matter of placing the player's location on a flat map and the compas could be guided by the UI's original N/S/E/W coordinates.

For now this is the only fix i can conjur up :P
