COME ON

Drop the attitude. People on this forum aren't your personal attendants.

To answer your question; obviously join the College of Winterhold, focus on spellcasting and staff use over melee, wear robes rather than armour. When you build your character make sure they aren't muscular, glasses are impossible to acquire in Skyrim so you're out of luck on that one, try to help people for the sake of helping rather than the reward, give your character a scar etc.

Sadly, no. It's just not possible. The game only let's you role play Bill Weasley or Dumbledor's brother. Hopefully this is something that will be fixed in the 1.5 patch.

I'm quite happily and effectively roleplaying Dobby, which is odd as I'm an orc.

Interesting choice of RP!

I would go with what Akataras suggested. Maybe try to play the reluctant hero, and try to marry a red head

I would also say no stealing. Stick to loot found in tombs, or dead bandits. I would stay away from the Daedric missions too. I guess Harry would have a Chaotic good alignment. Tries to do good, but doesn't mind bending the rules.

If you wanted to go the evil mage route, a Bellatrix might be fun

I don't think the character generation system has the ability to make someone look that weedy and insipid.

you can't...there's no dumb verbal spell casting, wands or anything remotely harry potter in skyrim and rightly so. The only way you can come close is thru mods on pc
If you want to play harry potter then go play the harry potter game ;)

Indeed - in fact, I tried making male characters and the size bar thing auto sets it on max - despite me attempting to make him of a medium build

This! Well said! Plus, I find the lack of imagination of some people rather disturbing. Just go and RP Harry Potter! Why would you need to ask a bunch of people on a forum? o.0 LOL
