Seems Farkas Was Intended to Wear Companion (Wolf) Armor

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:51 pm

In the quest "Proving Honor", one of the members of the Silver Hand asks which Companion Farkas is, to which one responds that it doesn't matter; he wears the armor, so he deserves to die. Thing is, Farkas doesn't wear Wolf Armor, which I always assumed was intended (as Aela and others don't either). But from the looks of it, Farkas was intended to wear the armor at some point during development.

I thought the same thing when I saw that maybe it was an over look. Seems like Farkas and Aela are the only ones that don't wear the armor as the rest of the circle does.

I don't think I've ever heard any unique dialogue from the Silver Hands. :P

This does make me laugh a bit because looting the bodies of the Silver Hand I noticed most of them were wearing the same armor as Farkas.

I agree. I thought it was also funny that he is wearing an Imperial Steel Gauntlet, while being in a pro-stormcloack faction.

I thought that dialogue was directed at my character. It was something like. "Who's that? I don't recognize him." "It doesn't matter. He wears that armor and he dies." Except that I don't have Wolf armor because I can't get it yet until after this mission.

Yeah, Farkas seems to be all-kinds of messed up. Although I do appreciate him dropping his Skyforge Greatsword when he transforms during the quest.

Companions are not political and stopped acting as mercenies for war. Vignar would be the exception probably because he isn't a companion in the sense that you or Farkas would be.

He actually drops his skyforged steel sword when he transforms. You could always revese pickpocket it back.

Farkas, while extremely lovable, is all kinds of messed up. There were some wires when setting his character class so instead of it being Knight like his brother, Vilkas, it's Blacksmith instead. So his primary skills are Smithing and Speech, as well as secondary stuff in One-Handed and Pickpocket. He also has no preference for Heavy Armor despite being the Master Trainer for it.
