Seriously Bethesda did you beta test this?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 3:12 am

When they begin running, they don't gradually increase in speed. They just take off. It's not major, but it breaks my immersion a bit.

Before I burn myself out on Skyrim, I decided to play an unpatched original Oblivion, just to see how many game-breaking bugs I find, or just bugs in general. I may or may not document them here, just to show everyone that Skyrim is not the first of its kind to be buggy.

I also have an original copy of Morrowind for Xbox, and I couldn't begin to tell you how many bugs and issues there are with that. There's just too much game to cover for me to find all of them.

The ps3 version is far worse... be thankful that the bugs you do have are fixable.

Shadows and other things like that are nothing... at least the game is stable on your platform and has less annoying bugs compared to our problem.

Even If you have all those errors and bugs that are so bad on the ps3, be patient. People coming on here and cussing out Bethesda aren't going to get anywhere, Do what you should be doing which is reporting bugs.

Are you guys kidding me right now? Are any of your brains big enough to even consider the amount of work and complexity that went into designing and developing a game like this? I bet half of you think it's just like 4 guys sitting in a room making graphics and putting [censored] together.. The game came out 5 days ago and your sitting here [censored]ing and moaning about anything and everything like little 5 year old kid who's throwing tantrums cause mommy wont let him have desert cause he didn't finish his dinner. Seriously grow up, give Bethesda some time to compile the bugs and errors and go through them and figure out how and what they're going to fix first. You can't just wave a magic stick around and be like OOOO game fixed rock on, not the simple kiddos, it takes time. There are going to be bugs and errors no matter WHAT on a game of this size and complexity especially when its running on a completely new graphics engine, And half the so called "Game Breaking" Bugs and errors you guys are posting aren't even game breakers at all. You act as if your in a rush to complete the game and everything else in it before your friends. All Your going to do is wear out the game.. Take your time.. enjoy the game and play it right. If somethings not working right, SKIP IT! Come back to it later! It's not that hard of a concept to grasp! Also when are people going to understand that nothing comes out perfect the first time, no matter how much you might want it to. NOTHING in life is perfect. All I hear is "your just a fan svcking bethesda's dike, or this or that. Seriously? If you want the game fixed that bad then do what you should be doing which is reporting the bugs and errors so they can issue patches and help fix the game not sit here on the forums and complain about how bad the company and the game is, all your doing is ranting and raving because your irritated cause not everything went right in your so called "Perfect little world. If your that upset about the bugs, then svck it up, help report the bugs and errors so they can be fixed and stop complaining. It's irritating to come onto the forums and see people bash a game that took a lot of hard work and dedication to make. Who cares if companies release the game and everyone who plays it first is a beta tester? Seriously, who cares? The game is 5 days old what about that do you not understand? EVERY game off the shelf, I don't care what it is has some kind of error, bug, glitch and its always going to be that way, It's Impossible to be absolutely perfect right from the first release especially with a game this huge. If you feel so angry about all the bugs and are really that upset do yourself, and bethesda a favor and sell the game and never play it again.

There are no game breaking bugs on the main quest. I know a few people who have already finished the main story line. Try Again.

If you have had no issues then why post on the "Skyrim Hardware and Software Issues Subforums" forum. Except of course if you want to bait and argue with players who are having issues.

Just because you have had no issues doesn't mean others aren't. Unless of course you think they are making it up or imagining it?

Go away.

Agree with the comment, but it also works the other way around. Just because someone has a bug doesnt mean everyone does.

The game is surprisingly clean from game breaking bugs, everything you just typed about are either graphical problems or random game problems, first of all Horses are a major improvement from Oblivion, stop losing your horse then ffs, if you spend your time trying to find it then riding it then you must be stupid or something, fast travel somewhere and it will show up, and how the hell did you manage to get stuck in a rock, avoid mountain climbing, follow the roads,

And about the dragons they are [censored] hard, I died frequently, if you think they are too easy, set the difficulty to master or something.

And from what I've seen and played Guards don't have telepathy as they did in Oblivion, I completed the Dark Brotherhood quest-line so I'm pretty sure they aren't TELEPATHIC, most of the problems you've experienced and easily be fixed if you think of what you're doing ....

And last but not least, you're bothered by the textures of random rocks ? Why would you even go right up to a rock and look into it to spot the wrongs, you need to know that Skyrim has a huge [censored] world, and the graphics are amazing for a game like that.

Skyrim is a master piece, even after playing it for hours and hours i still have LOADS to do. GOTY and GOTC.

Not GOTC but GOTM. Period.

editing to add: I wonder if they're running the graphics off an HD TV? I'm a hard core PC gamer ever since Origin's Ultima Series (NOT the online game which was f@cking crap) made D&D RPG what it is today. After EA f@cked up the Ultima Series, I thought the RPG genre was dead. That is until I ran into Daggerfall. Didn't become completely hooked until Morrowind, and have been a devout fanatic of the Elderscrolls ever since. Anyhow, I was sitting on the fence on whether to buy Skyrim for the XBOX vs PC.

The downside with the console platform is the lack of ability to fine tune and tweak your system performance. The PC finally won out because of this, especially in the graphics dept. I'm really glad I made this decision, expecially after upgrading my graphics card from a GTX 285 to GTX 580. And particularly given the past migraines having to tweak my old gaming rig for Oblivion. This time around, I decided to invest in a decent gaming system.

I run the game on a 24" flat panel, i-7 3960X @ 3.3GHz, 24 GB DDR3 @ 1.3GHz , 1TGB HD, GTX 580.

Right after installing, I nearly :brokencomputer: because the game textures in that opening scene were completely [censored]. It took several hours to sort out the tech issues on my rig, especially the CTD one. So I totally feel for the OP on the issues they're having in the graphics dept. Makes me REAL I glad went the PC route. When not caught in the middle of a blizzard, the panoramic views of Skyrim are truly $#@!&^*?@! spectacular on my 24" flatscreen! :foodndrink:

I've never encountered as many glictches and butgs on Morrowind and Oblivion as is the case with Skyrim. Most bugs in the older gamnes could e resolved by loading a previous save, in my experience.

SSkyrim however, is full iof bugs that actually stop you from continuing the main quest. In jmy case the game freezes at Jarl Balgruuf when I get my reward, but on this forum I read dozens of ways to get your game to get stuck,.

I think this is really bad. If it really is the case that were all beta-testers, then why doesn't is say that somewehere in the game? And when does this so-called testing phase end?

I've got around a hundred other games in my library that I've also paid around 60 euros for and that work perfectly. I think although some bugs are virtually unavoidable, as we're all on XOBOXlive nowadays companies take less interest in the testing versus the date of release. Even if a game is significantly flawed, releasedates and marketingplans have to be lived up to.

Its of course a pretty bad development for us customers who only want to enjoy Skyrim and get lost in countless hours of fun.
It's like buying a new car. If there is a scratch on the seats you can wait for the dealer to get new seat covers, but if he delivers a car without wheels you'd be really mad. I kinda have this feeling with Skyrim.

It frustrates that I and many others can't continue playingt for diverse reasons. I hope Bethesda will fix this soon and gamedevelopers will grow aware of the issue. Of course new laws by the European Union are in development, but it should be fixed by the developers themselves!

Let us pray for a (huge) patch!

Who says I don't have some bugs? I do.. Specially with quest over lapping each other. So don't assume k? I'm just saying that instead of Going off the wall and bashing Bethesda try doing what u should be doing which is reporting bugs instead of flipping out like 10 year olds.

And I find it funny, I keep hearing over and over and over how the main quest lines bugged and you can't complete it but there are plenty of people who have beaten the game main story line. I'm also on an unofficial skyrim forum separate from this and alot of people were posting bugs but half of what they were posting they were just confused about the quest and didn't understand and missed something they were suppose to do.

I can only speak for myself as I say that my game just freezes up during the main quest, when I get my reward from Jarl Balgruuf after getting back from B leak Falls Barrow. On every same the game just freezes at that exact point.
Doesn't seeem to me that I'm overlooking something, as all the appropriate converstaions take place until the game just freezes. I've played countless hours of both Morrowind and Oblivion but never in my day have I seen such a bug filled game. Still, if I could continue my main quest somehow I would be very happy!

However, reading all the problems on this forum you can't honestly say the main quest functions like it should, can you?

Eh? I never said you dont have bugs. I said that just because 1 user reports a bug, doesnt mean the game is broke and everyone has that bug. Far too many on here (and im not talking about you) assume that because they have a bug in a quest, that everyone must have it and the testers didnt do there job. It could be that a small minority are having that issue, but doesnt mean that every user is
