SKYRIM WONT PLAY WITHOUT UPDATE?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 11:01 pm

I don't see how it is bull. If you did some research, you would know that no game can run from no patches if the save you're trying to load was made while a patch was applied. So you can wait it out, make a new character and play until it is repatched, or moan pointlessly here.

Its your own fault... You saved in a patch you didn't want, now you expect the game to run without it...

I do apologize to everyone in this thread, this is not my normal operating attitude, and you all have the right to get mad at me, and I will not lash back at it.

I came here pissed off, and vented.... But in the long run, I just hope they fix it soon, cause I can't play till they do, and I'm loving the game.

No, I was not using full manners, I am aware of this... I'm usually the guy trying to politly talk people down when they are freaking, so I do understand and I apologize.

Bethesda is an amazing company in regards to the work and effort they put into things. This one update should've been researched and checked over a little more before coming out though.
I totally agree with the bolded part. I had a similar experience with my copy of the game. It worked just fine before patch 1.2 and now it's completely unplayable. It's such a good game and so addictive that it's a real jolt to the system when you all of a sudden can't play anymore. It svcks.

I'm no expert but I really think that Bethesda needs to tighten up the pre-release scrutinization of their products. They are just adding too much stress to the lives of their customers.

Yes, it's your fault that you were given a faulty patch.

These fan-boys that infect the forums honestly just sicken me.

So, I have a 360 sandisk USB stick... My gamertag and saves stay on it. Do I use that to get the patch off the computer? And what's the link to where that patch is?

NEVERMIND

I will NOT be doing this fix. Just looked on xbox forums and this falls under a form of modding in their TOU, and can result in system bans. So I wont be doing that.

Ah, sorry for that, I hadn't put in any further digging on that. Could you provide a link to the TOU violation you're talking about so I can know what I'm working with if I ever feel the need to play around with this? Thanks.

That being said - as you feel safest, but I personally consider pretty much all things like this legal as long as I don't get caught & hate waiting for someone else to help with something I can do myself. And perhaps I'm not familiar enough with XBox/Live yet...how would they even know if you rolled back to a previous release? ...all you're doing is basically clearing your cache & deleting game from hard drive, then reinstalling something they've put out before, right?

Anyhow, sorry for the trouble. Hopefully Bethesda will get a fix or rollback issued for correction soon.

Should of just rented skyrim, then I could of been fooled into thinking it awesome, got saddened by a quest killing bug, excited for a patch, then crushed when the patcb killed my game. Then finnaly I could have leaped for joy when I returned this broken garbage to the shop saving my self 50$

And YES... For $60, and the game doesn't work after three weeks, due to an action taken by the company, NOT by me, YES, that is grounds for some kind of compensation or legal action. It may be small scale in legal terms, but to provide someone with a product and then practically take it away from a bunch of users... I'm sure I'm not the only one... That is theft!

Well I did laugh at this before I read the rest of the thread.

As an XBOX AMBASSADOR;i will tell you it is MOST deffently against TOU.(I'M NOT A PAID EMPLOYEE FOR XBOX OR ANYOTHER MS COMPANY)
Any type of altering done through the PC WILL GET ANYONE BAN.
Here's the link for TOU:http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Legal/XboxComTOU?xr=footnav
HERE'S WHERE THEY CLOSE ALL THE LOOP HOLES:
Microsoft reserves the right to change the terms, conditions, and notices under which the Xbox.com Web Site is offered, including but not limited to the charges, if any, associated with the use of the Xbox.com Web Site. You are responsible for regularly reviewing these terms and conditions and your continued use of the website acknowledge your agreement.

It will fall under MODDING HARDWARE/SOFTWARE.
Many actions could take place from a simple ban to a perma-ban.
under this action most likly they would remove the modds and mark you as a cheater on your profile for all to see and re-set your gamerscore(on the gamerscore issue word is once they do this YOU'LL NEVER OPEN THEM BACK UP FOR ALL TITLES YOU HAVE PLAYED UP TO TIME OF OFFENCE.
Me what you're trying to do is fix a title and shouldn't fall under this, just like those who have boosted thier gamerscores(myself i could care less if you modded you're gamerscore to have 100% on all titles, as long as it doesn't give you an upperhand in multi-player modd away)

Bethesda, I'm calling my lawyer and he's going to arrest you. Enjoy your class action lawsuit.
