Something's wrong with Skyrim maces

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 1:58 am

In general I like most of the maces. They look mean, heavy and deadly and all but there are two problems with them:

1. They mace head is in the wrong direction when they are sheathed. They should be kept like 1h axes are.

2. Strangely the player char grabs most maces in the middle of the stick (see elven mace, dwarven, etc). This just looks plain [censored] and the mace looks too short as a result.

Are there mods adressing those issues?

There is a mod for just about everything so i guarantee if you have a good search you're bound to find something and if not use an axe.

I have tried maces a number of times and just never got into them. I didn't believe the way the killcams showed the decapation, in my opinion I was meant only for a sword and pushing on the axe.
I have used the mace of Molag Bal, Deadric, Ebony, Glass and Steel. Can't seem to recall using Dwemer, or Orc, and I don't use Elven gear on principal. I like using maces when exploring dwemer ruins, don't feel that my sword should cut through metal that has been around for thousands of years like butter.
Like most of the game, a little more spit and polish would have gone a long way. Though I will probably end up putting a thousand hours into this game anyway lol

Kill cam's are great with the mace. I love the face smashing one, and the decapatation I just took as me knocking their head clean off which is great. Seems plausable with an ebony mace due to the bladed edges. Never used any other weapon on my warrior. Maces all the way. It's just an in your face, bone crunching, type of weapons and was a lot of fun to use.

A game like Skyrim is never really 'finished' Beth can add all they want to it, but there will still be more great ideas to add, and eventually the system would become outdated, meaning they would waste a lot of time adding all these ideas to the new system

PS, I never liked Warhammers for the decapitation reason, I laughed the first time I saw it, but I still use them only for the massive damage a power attack does. Although sometimes I switch to 2h axes just so the decapitation is plausible

Skyrim maces can cut a persons head clean off for some reason.
