Stormcloak NPC says I'm not a Nord..?

Figured I'd post this here since it might be considered a spoiler.

I haven't been playing for a long time, and decided to try again.. I loaded up the save with the Nord I started a few months ago, and decided to join the Stormcloaks. When talking to Galmar Stone-fist, he asks me why a foreigner would fight for Skyrim...? But I'm a Nord! Is this a know bug? Intended? Or is my save broken?

That is not broken. Not exactly at least. Just because you are a Nord, it does not mean you are from Skyrim. For some reason the devs decided that all of our characters must have been born and raised outside of Skyrim. Because the Nine forbid that someone roleplay a person who has lived all their life in Skyrim.

Not all Nords are native to Skyrim. Not all natives of Skyrim are Nords. I've played several different Nords who joined the SCs, they all get asked the same question. It's not a bug, the game's dialogue overall pretty much drives home the fact that you arrived in Skyrim from somewhere else and have little knowledge of her customs and history regardless of your race.

Yep. As I've said elsewhere, the only way to RP a Nord without much of the dialogue seeming nonsensical is if you RP a Nord who was born far far away and raised by people who were either completely ignorant of everything Nordic or else had rejected it entirely and made an effort to keep it away from you.
