Strongest character when it comes to pure powergaming

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 8:50 pm

What do you think, with the current information, will be the most powerful character when it comes to pure powergaming?

Im guessing orc/altmer puremage with lycanthropy for melee when mana is low or depleted. With enchanting and smithing both for insane gear to cover all weaknesses.

Though the orc racial is insane it is still a once per day meaning you can simply wait before any boss battle.

Im also curious if the Orc racial will be usable in werewolf form, i think this may be ridiculously overpowered.

Your take?

The speed runs were done by Altmers...
Going beyond that? No clue.

Well, you might want to do it on the hardest difficulty with a few limitations (solo), so some power gaming may be needed for that.

As for most powerful, it is really hard to say. Maybe at later levels there is a lot of magic hate flying around. Who knows.

"Strongest" is not a measurable attribute without being defined. But my guess is that there are multiple builds that end up making you invincible. We have so little quantitative data that comparisons are really meaningless with our "current information". But my guess is a stealth build would be "strongest" simply because they get the advantage of the first hit and probably every build will be the most powerful when it has this advantage. If you incorporate alchemy into the mix, the comparisons gets even more ridiculous, since that essentially makes everyone immortal...

I think Altmer were chosen due to +50 magicka..
Since the characters were lvl 1 and 4 I'm guessing one of them bought an invisibility spell which was easier to recast with more magicka..

Another reason is the height or speed.
I don't know why people think height does not affect speed anymore..

Totally depends on your own playstyle and what you're good at. If you're not very tactical or interested in planning ahead, then you got the no-brainer strength builds that are very popular in MMOs *cough* WoW *cough*.

But if you're more into going the slow but steady path, then each individual kill can greatly benefit from both stealth and magic, making pure strength ineffective (because it's very limited to just hack-and-slash).

pure powergamer? well thats pretty vague. do u want to have the best stats possible or do u want to never die? theres a HUGE difference. so ill go through both...........
note: important bits are bolded.

pure stats
? pure stats is an easy one. first off u choose altmer. magic is (apparently) op in skyrim. altmer get the best bonus' and the regen makes early game easy/quick.

? u will also need to become a vampire. as far as we know, vampirism is mostly unchanged from oblivion. this means +stats. if u need to do something in the daytime, go feed on something. otherwise, the full vampire state stats r too good to pass up for a power gamer.

requires perks are smithing, chanting, alchemy, destro, and alteration.

never dieing

? ur going to want to be able to survive and do a lot of burst dmg but still be able to hold your own i na long, drawn out fight (for dragons mainly). yup, this means thief and makes the race a tie between redguard/nord/orc/khajit. i suggest redguard. (yea, i said redguard...)

? lycanthropy instead of vampirism. similar reasoning but minus that whole death by sunlight thing.

? smithing, chanting, alchemy r still required. sneak and 1 handed round off your thief.
