taking a book without reading it?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 3:52 pm

When you pickup a book it always open to the first page.
I want to place it immediately in inventory. If I decide to read it later, I will. If not, I'll sell it.
When I see a book while traveling Skyrim, I'll pick it up for it's monetary value and that's it.

I would like to be able to do this just so I can save the skill books until my skills are around 80-90

Close your eyes when you pick them up and double tap E :)

Ok sorry for the obvious trolling.

Serious now : No i don't think there's a way to do so. Might have to wait for a mod or two for it.

I know what you mean though, it's kinda annoying to "read" every book you pick up.

some of the books are enjoyable with good story telling, but the history ones are a little dry. :batman:

I read the books, but only ones dealing with my playstyle, the rest I sell. (so I don't need to read them all)

I'm talking about the spell books.

I have read 74 books to date. I will read every one cover to cover. Am I the only freak doing this?

Just double click it quickly, I have an xbox and it works fine.

Well, I've heard you can take em without reading on PC from my friend, hitting a secondary loot button, but on Consoles I think We're SoL.

Err Edit:
Yeah, I think you can just double tap it.

'Lusty Argonian Maid' is by far the most enjoyable book i read in Skyrim.

I like the books about sheograth, also chance is a good one about the thief. I like the begger one as well. Those are the books I like, but the history of barzaiha and polagia the wolf queen are dull.

Perhaps telling Lydia to pick it up, then take it from her inventory would work?
Haven't tried yet.

I actually enjoy reading these books. Haven't read all of them yet, still trying to find some in order.

My favorite has to be http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Surfeit_of_Thieves

I'm actually going to play oblivion and morrowind for the first time. I want to read all the books in those games and get into the lore a bit. Its hard though to read everything you come across. Did it for awhile, then some I just ended up flipping through.
