Textures melting all over the screen

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 2:22 pm

So I can actually load the game. And the sound plays. The graphics, though, are totally broken. Every texture is stretched and warped, turning my screen into some sort of abstract art piece. I can look around, which I know is happening because the pattern of elongated textures changes when I look left and right. And sometimes the elongations part and I can actually see the unskinned polygon models of people in the distance. And the rebel in the cart at the beginning sometimes pokes his skinned head through the textures to talk to me just fine. Any idea what is happening and how I can fix it?

i'm having the same issue. I'm running it on an hp pavilion dv6 with an ati mobility radeon hd 5650, all system reqs are good, and all drivers up to date, but this weird texture melting/stretching thing is still going on. if you adjust the various "fades" in the in-game settings menu it gets a little better, but it's still pretty bad and definitely makes the game WAY less enjoyable when you're outside or in very large environments. I've messed around with just about every graphical option i can, and it doesn't seem to do anything. if anyone can come up with a fix please help us out.

It does indeed look like that, only on my computer it is multiplied by about a hundred. I literally can see almost nothing but stretched textures.

Might be caused by overheating components (CPU and / or GPU).

I had similar issues couple years ago,and that was a graphic board overheating issue.

It's a driver issue. go to donotargue.com and download the driver that supports your graphics card there. It totally fixed the problem for me, hopefully it will for you guys too.

I just fixed mine by force installing new graphic drivers. Toshiba's were way too out of date.
