Troubles getting Honeyside

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 10:32 am

so i'm trying to get honeyside, the house in riften.
i refuse to buy breezehome on this character, she hasn't even started the main quest and probably wont (i miss dragons tho).

i did the two prerequisite quest, 'helping hand' and 'the raid' according to the UESP. the jarl and her assistant anuriel still don't mention anything about purchasing a house.
am i still missing something?

currently i'm level 19 and afaik there is no minimum level requirement for honeyside house.

It's a bug, it happened to me too. You can use the console on PC to start the "I Done Got Thaned!" quest but on consoles you are SoL.

You need to complete point 3.

Can't get the link to work :stare:

Talk to the Argonian Wujeeta and help her, after talk to her about the skooma dealer. Then You should be able to get the quest The Raid from the Jarl.

setstage FreeformRiftenThane 10

That will start the quest, and it will then update to reflect how many freeform quests you have done.

Unrelated but there's some good sigs on this page.

Hopefully Bethesda will make good on the promise of adding mod support to consoles. That way the console commands will be usable.

I tried this and you can't be a Thane of Riften before you help Wujeeta at the fishery, and get the details about the skooma-dealer. Also tried only to help her, then the possibility to become Thane are a option at the Jarl of Riften. :)

The best way to complete any Thane questline is to do it all at once.
A personal system I've been using in all Thane/Housing quests may help you in the future.
Don't look on it as an inconvenience but, rather, as a way of better ensuring success.

1. Acquire all the needed gold for the house + upgrades. For Riften 8,000 + 4,300 = 12,300
2. Complete any 5 helping quests to qualify, saving Wujeeta for #5..
Note: Knowing which ones you wish to do ahead of time helps streamline the process.
3. Then, and only then, speak to the Jarl of the Hold.
4. Complete the Jarl's questline and, only when directed, speak to the Steward.
5. When purchasing the house from the Steward, do not exit the conversation and speak with the Jarl when prompted. Instead, continue the dialogue with the Steward and purchase all upgrades.
6. Turn to your right and speak with the Jarl. This will complete the questline.

Now, this is key...
1. Walk over to your new home and SAVE before entering. Was that clear enough?
Again, for emphasis...SAVE before entering your new home.
2. Upon entering, equip a shield and weapon and test all weapon/shield displays. Every single one.
3. Check your mannequins with a full outfit.
4. If steps 2 and 3 are successful, EXIT the home and SAVE. Never Save whilst in any home or the Physics will wreak havoc on re-loads.
5. If either steps 2 or 3 are not satisfactory, exit the game and load the Save made before entering.
6. Once steps 2 and 3 are satisfactory, EXIT the home and Save. You can then continue your game from the Save on the back porch.

No, it's not a chore.
No, it's not a pain in the tushy.
It's merely 10 minutes of your day to ensure a properly functioning player home.

If we've learned anything over the years of TES play, the mantra from the MW boards rings true today as it did in 2002.
Say it loud and say it proud, TES players:
Save Early...Save Often

Hope that helps
