Update 1.2 and your hopes and expectations

I just want the patch to focus on gameplay related bugs. They should worry about things like textures later.

Patience is a virtue. I'm just hoping the texture bug has been fixed. On my first playthrough i got up to level 59 and did as much as i could to find out what was broken, i found a lot, but its an ES game, that's normal. Now on my second playthrough, currently level 26 I'm having a lot of fun as i'm RPing more and i know what is broken so i can stay away from it, until the patches fix this. and they will, Beth does support its customers, more than we know and more than most other game devs. The thing that bugged me, maybe its just me, but when looking at past TEs games (and i've played them all) are the MQ's getting shorter and shorter?

Don't you find it weird how they haven't updated 1.2 with a changelog yet? Bethesda didn't submit the patch yet, [censored] this probably haven't even started looking for bugs. All they did was post something to keep people from [censored]ing.

Wow...just wow. You really should do a little research or at least understand what was said in the 1.2 patch sticky.

The patch has been submitted to Microsoft and Sony so they can do their own QA certification process. The reason they have not added a changelog yet is because if any problem's arise from certain change's/fixes in the patch then they will be removed and re-worked while the change's/fixes that are fine will go ahead for release. If they posted a changelog before they sent off the patch for certification and some proposed change's/fixes did not make it for the 1.2 patches release then what do you think would happen? yes a crapload of complaints.

This forum never cease's to amaze me at time's.

And dont get me started on people who cant simply comprehend a game of this size and nature being released bug free, i mean the amount of bugs that have been discovered so far pale in comparison to the likes of Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout:NV.

The one thing I hope for above any, is the hotkey function. It was bad enough with using only spells. It's even worse with a DW char.

If they fix nothing other than the Thieves Guild armor glitch, I'll be happy. Of course I won't turn my nose up at anything else that gets patched as well.

im pretty sure bethesda were one of the first to set a release date.. that sort of kills your argument

I'm sure they did. But why stick to a release date with this many problems? Seems a bit wierd that they set a date with all these other titles coming out at the moment as well doesn't it?

Surely someone, somewhere saw at least one of these bugs before release. Or did all the beta testers just do exactly what they were told to? It took me about an hour to find a bug. How long did it take you?

Seriously do they think people in a game like this just does what they are told to do? Not beat a path of thier own?

Nar I'm out. So done with this game. It crashes, freezes, glitches (has naked characters turn up, has horses/people/dragons stuck in the ground, dragons that don't animate, see through player character, arrows/ice spikes stay in you for hours etc etc) It can't even autosave without corrupting save files.

And before you say oh you need a new xbox. I got one. its 3 months old. Its not the xbox. It's either the data on the disk itself, or a miss-pressed disk. Its wrong. Its not worth putting any more time into.

In all the time and countless hours I've spent playing this game I have only found "2" glitches... just two. And I ran into them days... days after I started playing. I have never experienced the...

... not once.

On another quote you said that your box was new. You can still purchase a brand new defective X-Box 360 and I know a great deal of people have turned in XB's because something was wrong with them. You might be having hardware problems.

Anyways, this game amazed me, it still amazes me. I'm surprised they fit it all on one disc. Honestly I thought a game this massive would have tons of problems. But it doesn't. At least not in my experience. I am surprised by some of the stuff I'm reading here.

The first of two glitches I've come across is 1. If you complete the Civil War quest for the Stormcloaks, it makes it impossible to complete a variety quest involving a certain priest of Talos in White Run. His house entrance is blocked by rumble and most people I found on google have had to quit the quest which fails the quest. 2. After completing Civil War I still can not buy the house in Windhelm. According to the Stewart, the house had something nasty happen in it and it wont give me an option to do something about it.

Those are the only two that I have seen in the 72+++ hours of gameplay.

I hope for:

- Ability to sell horses.

- Ability to hitch horses and make them stay in that place safely until you go get them.

- Ability to choose whether you want to fast-travel with your horse or without your horse.

- Ability to choose which equipment a follower equips and which he just carries for you.

- Ability to choose a combat preference for your follower: Ranged Combat, Close Combat, Support (which would include healing you and/or conjuring more help etc.), Defend.

- Equipment type separations for chests like there are in the Inventory.

- Equipment type separations for Favorites when pressing up/down on D-Pad (Weapons, Apparel, Magic, Potions, Misc).

- Scrolling up when at the top of a list, you will jump to the bottom of the list and continue scrolling.

- Ability to use contents of the Apothecary's Satchel on your own Alchemy Lab in your home without having to pick them up/ have them in your inventory.
Actually, there should be containers like that on or next to every player-owned Equipment Creation Device (Lab, Enchanter, Forge, Smelter, Workbench, Whetstone) whose contents you can use in the respective Equipment Creation Device without needing to have them in your inventory.

- Ability to "Store ALL" contents of a specific type (Ingredients, Books, etc.) in a container.

- Total Weight Indicator of each Item Type Category in my Inventory (Total Weight of of Potions, Total Weight of Weapons etc.)

- Ability to move/transfer all the contents in containers of one house to another house by hiring a carriage/transporter. The carriage should have no limit on equipment load, so if you want to move you don't have to carry all the stuff and make 100 trips back and forth because you can't carry it all at once.

- Ability to transfer your Housecarl to another house.

- Make Archmage quarters, once you are the Archmage, into a "House", to which you can transfer all your houses' containers' contents and your housecarl to.

I hope for:

Well some pretty good suggestions there. But since the update will focus on bugs and glitches (and or exploits) none of them will see the light of day (very likely). Hower I have to disagree with some of your suggestions.
That is having your House Carl transfer to a new place.
1. Your house would or could possibly be a commune of house carls (since you can get one or should be able to get one in most holds)
2. It's a bit illogical. They are your Carl for a specific hold. If you travel and have them as your companion they are basically your bodyguard. However if you choose to move to another city/hold it is more logical that your Carl is replaced by the Carl of said hold.
If you were to make one of the guilds your home, followers are included with a) said guilds specialty in mind and b ) more logical.. You abandoned your Thane duties and chose to lead a guild instead.

Bethesda is notorious for using buyers of their games as beta testers. You knew this when you bought Skyrim - The problems that Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Brink had are not problems that shocked any of us. They're in every single game that has come from Bethesda. It was still your choice to purchase Skyrim, fully knowing that these problems are going to exist. Is it annoying? Yes, highly. But it's still something we all knew was going to happen. We bought Skyrim on release date because we couldn't wait to play it. Bethesda has always been good about hotfixing problems through patches, so we have nothing to worry about there. If this game is honestly unbearable for you, put it down for a few months until the game is "fully released" or so to speak. I guarantee that it will be a great game by then.

To be fair, Bethesda did not create Fallout: New Vegas, they only published it. Obsidian created Fallout: New Vegas.

Any game is going to have bugs. There's absolutely no way to iron everything out. Once you fix something, another bug will rise because of that. And most of the glitches and bugs in Skyrim currently are not happening to 100% of people - so testers would not have picked up on this if it did not happen to them.

---

With that being said, the Thieves Guild is broken. I'd like to see it fixed.

I agree 100%. The OP calling the developers ignorant, stupid and lazy needs to Please continue, my good sir.. Everyone that complains, go out and make your own damn game that is this enthralling. Seriously, go do it. And before you say that isn't the point, it is the point! We all want to have a bug free gaming experience but guess what? Since my early PC gaming days with Doom there hasn't been a game that is bug free. It happens. And when you make a game a large and free as Skyrim there will be bugs. Unless of course the OP wants TES 6 to be a FPS with only one path you can take.

To the OP and other little whiners, if you think you can do better go do it. Go spend the millions it takes to produce a game of this quality and then setup a forum where anonymous neckbeards can come in to bash and belittle the extremely hard work you and your team put into it. Please do that.

/rant

If I were to develop a game I would never setup a forum. All it does is open the door for people to say things that they would never say in person. I would like to watch the OP go up to one of the TES developers and tell him how lazy and stupid he is. That would make for a good youtube video.

edit: didn't proof read

My hat off to you, sir. It's nice to see someone with some sense in them.

The only thing I'm really hoping for is to fix the Thieves guild so I can join.
I know they spent alot of time making this game and cannot possibly test all of it, But they should have encounterd this bug once no?

Wait, one more thing!

Personally im hoping to see a fix to The Blood on Ice quest, I really want to get the house in Windhelm.
Other things im hoping get fixed:
- randomly spawning dead creatures falling from the sky
- When I walk into a place ive been to, id like to see the items I dropped or creatures i killed there be in the SAME spot
- The ability to marry Lydia
- Loot and dungeons resetting themselves

Just some of the things that would be nice to see fixed.
