That's kind of expected... Skyrim was created on the PC using the Creation Kit, not on the 360.

You do understand how that works, right? It requires a PC for the most part..

Has any 360 game ever supported user mods?

I'm not saying it wouldn't be awesome, I'm saying it is silly that you are disappointed.

He talked about it in this video interview. It is completely possible, but Microsoft would have to allow them to be distributed via Xbox Live.

It all comes down to Micro$oft and $ony~

Basically, it wont happen~ Unless Bethesda paid them alot of money.... And charged people for mods which would otherwise be free on the PC~

I still have hopes for this issue. Until Microsoft comes out and say that they will never allow this, I will keep hoping for it.

User-Generated Content in Skyrim — April 21, 2011

Bethesda's Todd Howard has confirmed that the studio is trying to find a way to let 360 and PS3 gamers install user-generated content with TESV: Skyrim. The only problem is finding a way to allow users to download the content. "It works on all the consoles," he said. "As far as the 360 and PS3, right now there's not an avenue for us to make that available, but we’d very much like to find a way. We have talked to Microsoft and Sony, and so there's a chance it might happen one day, [but] I don't see it happening for release."

Third-party mods have been a huge part of the Elder Scrolls series since Morrowind and have allowed PC players to add almost anything to their games. The leading TES mod site, TES Nexus currently features over 24,000 files, and there is every indication that Skyrim will continue the high level of input from the modding community.

They dont have to charge for it, it can be added as free DLC packages. The way the game is setup it should be relatively easy to actualy implement mods on a the console, as said above the only issue barring it is getting MS and Sony onside to allow user made content on the networks for downloading. If Beth can convince them, they could have a Beth mod server which features several "verified" user downloads. Verified meaning they have been checked by the devs as not causing major glitches or have gamebreaking errors in them. X3 reunion for PC features user made mods that have been verified by the devs and released as part of game updates and additional content packages.

Of course creating them would have to be done on the PC with the creation kit, but as I said it should be relatively easy to make them console compatible ie a creation kit option to save mods as console compatible ESM/ESP files.

Technically sans Shivering Isles, The DLC for Oblivion were pretty much mods, just the official ones though.

The only problem with that is that Microsoft would still have to check the mods even after Bethesda says its O.K. Just like the patches that developers make, Microsoft still has to make sure on their end that nothing in them will harm Xbox live or peoples Xbox software. With the amount of mods that would be submitted, Microsoft would have devote very large amounts of time and manpower to this. I still wish it would happen and hopefully one day it does.

It would be possible to convert a PC made mod to a Xbox 360 LIVE file, Microsoft won't do it.

This is to be expected with 360 games though so not really sure why you though there would be support for this.

Unless Microsoft could see money in this, they will not do it. It would be the same with Sony.

--------------------------

The only way I could see it working even if Microsoft wanted to it would be only trusted people could submit a mod for multi-platform use.

Or even a mod would be reviewed similar to how Indie Games are reviewed.

well that would depend... there are several ways that it could be added to a xbox 360 without using live, Microsoft just wants control of what gets put on them. Rather then having 6000 user mods popping up all over xbox live for skyrim, perhaps Bethesda could take a different approach... "Bethesda User Mod Competition", where the mods would be put together by users, and voted on buy users to see which one Bethesda would take and test, and have placed on Xbox live.

Oh, you mean like all of the [censored] music genre titles that crowd the marketplace by popping up one at a time? Yeah, that would be annoying.

I think you may be underestimating the modding community with that 6000 figure guesstimate. For oblivion, on TES Nexus alone, there are 23,140 mods.

This!

Plus Todd talked about it, it is entirely possible, free DLC has been issued in the past i.e. Portal 2 I think valve had found a way to get around it, so there's no harm in it, it's if they have the time and resources.
