"Ugh...." Jaycob groaned, resting his head in his hands "Will someone tell me what the Azura is going on?"

"Another one." Marcus said. "This isn't good."

The poisoned alchohol wearing off, Jaycob snapped to his senses. "That assassin is an idiot, the more he kills, the more likely that he's a suspect." Jaycob eyed Bane, he had been getting more suspisicious by the hour. "So, Reguard..." Jaycob started "How did you know to be in the argonian's room, huh?"

"I entered his room first." Marcus said. "I was going to wake him up when I fell down the stairs over Bane." Marcus looked nervous, he just made himself a suspect with what he said. "Of course," He added "It could've been anyone."

"Indeed" Bane replied, though his tone showed he did not believe that at all.

Marcus looked over at Bane, then to Jaycob, and back to Bane. "What now?"

"That's harder than it sounds." Marcus snapped. "We don't even have a clue as to who did this!"

"It could very well be one of us." Jaycob remarked. "I was drugged. If I was the assassin, would I have drugged myself?" Without waiting for further comment, Jaycob grabbed a bowl of rice from the table with his three-fingered hand, and started eating. To him, the conversation was over.

"Now hold on," Marcus replied. "You are still a suspect, perhaps you drugged yourself to make you look innocent?"

"That was freakin' skooma!" Jaycob started, annoyed. "You think I'd risk getting addicted to that crap?!" Jaycob was angered by the fact that he was a suspect, though there was no evidence to prove it. Now he was angered by being questioned by a man easily at least 6 years his junior. As he finished his rice, Jaycob glared at Marcus, his eyes twitching. "Oh, so now I'M the big suspect now, huh?! I never set foot into the argonian's room, and now I'm being questioned?!" Jaycob was slowly losing it.

"Relax." Marcus said. "I never said you did it, I just said that you are still a suspect."

"Good Mephala," Bane murmured softly. He ran a finger under his eye, tracing the terrible scar there.
"I'm a legionnaire. I've spent a lot of time investigating assassinations like these. A few months before the argonian slave rebellion, several high-ranking Imperial officers died mysteriously. Poisoned, in their sleep. Someone had poured venom into their ear, which burned through their skulls and into their brains. I was assigned to the group investigating the death. I've picked up a few tricks. Let's go look at the chandelier again, it might give us some hints," Bane said. He wondered iritably where the other two guests were. They never seemed to be around.

"Yes, let's go check that out." Marcus said. However, he did not follow. He slipped away, to get some skooma, no one ever would've suspected that he was an addict. He just hoped he could get back to Jaycob and Bane before they'd notice his absence.

Jaycob followed Bane down the hallway, admiring the expensive sets of armor dotted around. "Woah, you think we could take any of this?" Jaycob started. "This is quality stuff, bet it came right fr-wait a second, where's Marcus?"
