As next gen as possible

Anyone have any ideas/hopes for what this comment from Pete Hines might be hinting at? Personally, the only other thing I would dare to hope for would be UI improvements for the console versions. Other than that I have problems even thinking of things they would be eye balling to improve. I mean any increases in graphical fidelity would be amazing but expected, and the comment from Hines seems to indicate... more. I don't want to read into the comment too much either. Do you think we might possibly see improvements in character movement and/or animations? That would be amazing, but might be too much to expect.

If there would be one odd thing they improved, I kind of wish it would be how NPCs get out of bed when attacked. It is odd to be whaling on an NPC as he is gingerly waking up ha ha.

Improvements in graphics like volumetric godrays, improved snow shaders, etc.

Some people are saying animations will be improved, especially when Pete Hines was asked about it.

This was for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.

Having only my Xbox at home, I'm just happy that I'll be able to play Skyrim again. Any improvements are just icing on the cake.

I imagine the bandits you wake up are like: "Just you wait. When I get up, I'm gonna GAH!" :P

I haven't heard/seen what Pete's exact words are. If someone would kindly link me to the quote that captainfez is referring to, that'd be appreciated.

Anyway, I don't know what else they would add in a remaster. I figure it will be almost completely, if not all cosmetic changes. But as for hopes? I really wish they could add that cut content back for the College of Winterhold. I am on record elsewhere on the forums about loving what was there but still somewhat disappointed when it could've been much more, so I don't want to go too much into that again. But yeah, that would be nice.

Also, patching out some of the more aggravating bugs. Two of the big ones that come to my mind:

-In the aforementioned College of Winterhold questline, when you try to get into the Oculory in the Dwemer ruin (the name escapes me at the moment) I ran into an infuriating bug where that door into said Oculory wouldn't open. I don't remember how I bypassed it on PC, but I still shouldn't have to worry about it, and console players are screwed if they run into it as in the case of one of my friends.

-Curing Farkas and Vilkas of lycanthropy is a real pain. There is a bug that can stop them from following you just outside Jorrvaskr. I had to look up how to get around it.

You know what would be great, but 99.99999999% won't happen? Fixing the stupid damage system to a DT/DR hybrid instead of making enemies into sponges.

Hopefully they'll remove a bunch of the candles from dungeons. There isn't any point to have a torch or light spell when everything is always sufficiently lit.

And it would just be super if they fixed stealth so enemies actually search for you and can't hide right in front of their faces at a 100 skill level.

Admittedly, these things aren't exactly "next gen" from a hardware standpoint, but a guy can still dream...

What I'm expecting: Improved textures, and new graphics effects found in Fallout 4 like volumetric lighting, rain occlusion, etc

What I'm hoping for: every asset gets touched up, from the animations to even the UI. Some Creation Kit features from Fallout 4 get ported over, like layers in the cell editor or inter-mod compatibility support in scripting.

What I'm not going to expect: any gameplay changes or new content.

A serious enhancement of animations and dialogue interactions with npcs would be awesome.

Did wolves not howl in vanilla? I mean 11/11/11 vanilla, before one of the DLCs (I think maybe Dawnguard?) apparently stopped it happening?

I really hope BGS releases a few patches for the Special Edition, there are still quite a few bugs since the final 2013 patch.

Do you really want to give up all those marvelous bugs, glitches and whatever just for a more polished game?

do away with 255 mod limit; better spell casting that doesn't require unequipping weapons;

If you sneak in as a werewolf and then use your roar fear ("howl") power, they wake up super fast ;)
