So I think I may have encountered a bug in this game. I am Vilified with Caesar's Legion, yet every time I come across a Legionnaire they are friendly - they don't attack me on sight. However, I still encounter the occasional Legionnaire assassin's that say you are "marked for death" and then attack you.

So far the only big encounter I had with the Legion is at Nipton. I killed Vulpes and the rest of his crew and became vilified.

Is this a bug? If so, can I fix it?

You could try killing some more.

Are you wearing legion armor? I've had this happen to me too on the way to Vegas, I think they are marked as non-hostile so you can get a feel for them as a faction even if you blow Vulpes's brains out. Try going to Cottonwood Cove (without Boone) and see what happens there.

Def not wearing any Legion armor. Guess I'll just see what happens after Cottonwood Grove. For now I'll just attack the Legion anyway because they're [censored]s.

Give em a chance, they may look worse than House of NCR but all the factions are morally grey, the Legion is just a darker shade of grey. Just a tip but try to remember where the Assassins come from and go it can save you some ammo or your life, or some merchants life.
