My F4 enthusiasm has reached quite the low, so I thought I might go back to FNV with mods for a bit and while thinking about that it occurred to me that I had never done a Legion playthrough.

Is it fun? I could imagine that it raises problems with some companions, namely Boone and Arcade.

Share your experiences please.

I found it to be quite fun. Rather than playing as an "AVE LEGION" character, I played a "speculatore" or whatever is the term for female Legion undercover agents.

There are many quests that can be done for the Legion, perhaps not as many as for the NCR, but you can also do NCR quests "wrong" to advance the Legion's cause.

And yes, my Legion character ended up killing Boone, Ulysses, Joshua, and selling Arcade into slavery. :evil:

If you can get arcade gannon as a companion before you befriend the legion, then you can sell him into slavery to Caesar to cure his brain tumor.

If that's not reason enough to play a legion character, I don't know what is..

Buy seriously, legion play through are pretty fun if you make a guy who finds glory in combat. Also lots of quests to do legion way, you can even do some spy work in camp macarran and camp golf, as long as you don't vilify the ncr until later in game.

Out of all the playthroughs I've done, the Legion is is perhaps the one I enjoyed most. Especially because of Arizona Killer. A lot of options to have some fun there.

Also it is fun to bring the wrong person to Boone and have him kill an innocent person. Just be careful if you use certain NPCs as you can fail a few quests.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds fun. So, to explore the possibilities of a legion play, I should tread very carefully with the NCR and avoid anything detrimental to my rep with them. Sounds like a frumentarius background RP-wise...

Thanks for the mods. I use the first one Caesar's New Regime and love it. The second one Legion Quest Expanded looks pretty interesting, downloading it now.

Are you playing on PC? if so there are some mods that are a must for a legion play through. If not, I still think the Legion had pretty interesting quests. Arizona killer is still by far my favorite quest

this one allows you to join the Frumentarii l, it's mostly just a dialog overhaul to remove unimmersive dialogue and add dialogue that makes you feel like a member of the Legion.

Literally everywhere you go you are getting shot at because nobody likes the legion :/
