play past end? question

I know it OLD news that NV ends with a END.
And so far DLC can only be played via old saves, or new saves.

Will this be changed with future DLC (like BoS did for Fo3)...

Or has Bethesda said that NV has an END, and will STAY that way?

Im hoping that they made an end, for the very reason to save the intention of extending it later via DLC.

I appologize for the very old, already asked a million times, question...
This is my first post on here ;)... Hello NV forums!

Nobody knows at this point, and while your likely to get a lot of flamers here on this forum, looking on other Fallout websites (and the like) will show that there are a good many people who have asked for an extension.
Nobody knows for sure, but it certainly wouldn't be surprising.

Well yes, it wouldn't be surprising.
As Fallout 3 'endingh was forced upon the player, and had options to play on.

I figure with the amount of people who purchased BoS to extend the gameplay.
Bethesda probably figured it would be a good insentive to get a future DLC.

I didn't see it myself but I have read many posts on this forum claiming that the devs have already stated there will be no Broken Steele type of extension.

Thankfully.

Fallout: New Vegas has an end and Obsidian says they aren't going to change that. DLC will need to be played before the final quest.

http://www.1up.com/news/fallout-new-vegas-definitive-ending

"We want to make it a definitive ending. Initially, we talked about trying to support post-game play, but because the changes that can happen at the end of the game are pretty major, this is what it basically came down to: either have the changes feel really major in the end slides and then have them not be very major after the end of the game, or make them really minor and not that impactful. And we feel it's better to say, 'you know what, we're just going to end the game, and the changes you made can be minor or really really big, but because we can't script all the changes to the Wasteland to let you keep playing, we're just going to stop it there.' But we do let the player know when that's about to happen-- a sort of, 'the end of the game is coming, so we're saving your game right now, so if you want to keep your game going, you can, otherwise, it's about to be over.'"

We tell the full story of every one of your companions through the end of their lives, and it's weird to do all that and then jump back and say, "Okay! Now you can keep going again." So we end the game, and if you want to do other quests, then you go back to that save game before the end sequence.
The way Bergman explained the structure of the ending to me made it sound like Bethesda won't do something as clumsy as the retcon of "Broken Steel" again, in order to justify the add-ons for New Vegas. We'll have to wait and see.

There. Now nobody can say that I made it up. Check for yourself.

Weep, Broken Steel fans! Weep until your eyes bleed!

Obsidian, not Bethesda, made New Vegas- and they've said repeatedly that the ending is deliberate, and permanent, and will not be extended by a Borked Steal-type DLC.

Be my guest. It's not like I was the one that wrote the articles. Besides, I got those from a quick search on Google with the keywords "fallout new vegas play after ending"

Is it really that difficult to save before doing the final mission then reload your game after seeing that ending? No its not difficult. Why should they endure countless hours of programing and bug checking to make sure each and every variable for how you finished the game goes off correctly because a few of us can't comprehend the idea of simply not finishing the game until were done with it. And even if they did whats left to do except wander around killing critters as only one major faction will remain and even many of the minor factions like the BoS, the Fiends and the powder gangers may also have been exterminated. What isn't people expect to be able to do after the main quest that can't be done before?

THE ONLY way a continue after the end could really work is if it simply rolled you back to before the battle at hoover dam. You'd keep your inventory and such so you can try out the blade of the east and such. But your not continuing after the ending

If they want to end up like EA Games (whose execs have no souls), they most likely will.

There we go.
