OK this is a hypothetical question.

Lets say that Benny shot the Courier a third time killing him, and continued on with his mission.

How would things have played out with different factions without the couriers intervention?

Would Benny have succeeded, Would Goodsprings have survived the Powder Ganger attack, Who would have taken the Damn, and etc.

Caesar would probably destroy houses vault then the chip so house and benny would be out. I think NCR would eventually win but with severe losses.

Benny only fled to Fort Hill because you revealed that Mr.House suspected him

Nah the NCR would probably lose, as without the Courier nearly every settlement or outpost won't have it's multitude of problems fixed. Although after the battle it'd be uncertain about how long it would all be held.

Here's the way I see it.

Courier dies.

Benny takes chip and gets it anolyzed by Yesman.

Benny realizes that he would need to get to Cesar's camp to use it.

Not suicidal, isn't running away from the Courier since they're dead.

Nothing happens, or failing that he tries to find a way to kill Mr. House so that he can get Yesman in control of the current Securitron force, so he can take Cesar's camp.

Mr.House kills him, gets the chip.

I've got good money that Mr. House would come out on top.

Benny just needs a few more stealth boys and he could have made it to the Legion Camp and find away to kill Mr.House. He takes control of the strip. Makes a deal with NCR which frees up NCR to deal with the Legion. Or Benny's take over causes chaos on the strip NCR tries to get it under control causing a distraction and the Legion takes the dam.

I am not Bias to House.

I just.....have a large tendency to favor and compliment Mr. House as opposed to any other faction in the game. :spotted owl:

Oh, and in addition to my last replay, here's how I see it.

House gets chip.

Sets things up so that NCR and Cesar's Legion are forced to fight each other.

Waits till both sides are fighting, or till after they're both nearly wiped out.

Sends in Victor with a small group of Mk.1 Securitrons to empty camp/wipe out leftovers.

or, failing that.

Allies himself with NCR, sets things up so they either win but are all killed, or are almost all killed.

Now that they are allies, he gets NCR to escort Victor in to the camp and take care of the chip.

It's probably why he designed Victor in the first place.

Why would house make it so NCR gets killed? He himself says NCR is his best customer and killing you customer is bad for business.

You would say that

My vote is with the legion. As No-Bark says- they gaht spais all ovah! They also have Lanius. 'nuff said?

Spoiler
In the end House would be a little screwed. He can't do anything himself, and those securitrons' usefulness is probably limited due to the fact that they don't have opposable thumbs. He'd have to find someone else to do his dirty work for him, which could take a while. The legion would probably at this point have captured Benny and thus be in the posession of the Platinum Chip. House isn't nothing without a Courier! nd if you ask me, the NCR could win the dam, then would probably all get so drunk to celebrate the legion could send in one recruit to wipe them all out. Them legion's got discipline!

Because they're not strong enough to take out the legion by themselves, and once they realized he used them they would be trying to eliminate him. His only other option to get them to help would be to admit his plans, and get them to help him, which would likely require quite a few sacrifices on his part... And like they say, the house always wins.

Even if the Legion Captured the Damn. I am pretty Sure the NCR would be able to take it back fairly easily just because of the shear size of there military.

PS. this was also about discussing the fate of smaller factions, such as Goodsprings,The Kahns, FOTA and Boomers

Seems to me Mr.House wants to update his robots so that he can protect the Strip from NCR once they take out the Legion. He knows that NCR would over run him at some point. Still its better then the Legion. Mr.House has svcked up to NCR since NCR got to the Mojave but he is stronge enough to keep NCR from taking total control but once the Legion gets pushed back across the Colorado he won't be. Getting the Robots update will give him the edge for future talks with NCR (to keep the deal he already has.)

He fixed up Vegas because when he saw NCR he got dollar signs in his eyes. Having them killed off would not be good. At some point NCR will come back. Going to war with NCR very bad for buisness and having Legion take over would be really bad.
