Can my PC run Crysis 3 well?

Hi,
I was just wondering if it's worth picking up Crysis 3 now I have a semi-decent PC lol. I am currently playing Crysis 2 with DX11 & high res texture pack on extreme settings @ 1680x1050, and getting 30-50 fps. Is Crysis 3 much more demanding than 2?

PC Specs:

AMD A8 5500 APU 3.3Ghz (3.7Ghz boost)
Kingston 4Gb 1600Mhz HyperX DDR3 RAM
MSI FM2-A55M-E33 Motherboard
KFA2 GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1Gb GDDR5
Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Thanks! :)

Crysis 3 is very demanding, but also EXTREMELY unoptimized and buggy which is where most of the lag comes from. It definitely needs a good CPU, yours looks like it will be enough. I mean the game will run, but obviously don't expect going All Ultra at 1080p or anything like that.

EDIT: Wait, your CPU might not be enough. It's a dual core processor, and this game loves more cores(and power obviously). I have my doubts you can get good FPS at even all low, but you must try, no way to know.

No, A8 APUs are quadcores, A4 & A6 are dual core.

How buggy is the game? Should I just get it on 360 or something?

I was mostly referring to Multiplayer, for Singleplayer there is this as far as I know http://www.geek.com/games/rope-physics-is-killing-the-framerate-in-crysis-3-1541058/

I was sure I read the A8 5500 was dual core, it costs < $100, and I paid what, 300 for my i5-4670k. Anyway, your CPU has no L3 Cache, and I've heard it helps a lot. My old CPU was Phenom II x4 955 3.2Ghz and it did struggle with Crysis 3 and it had L3 cache, of course it was very very old but still.

That rope physics bug has been fixed long ago.

Also, I would beg the differ and say crysis 3 is maybe the MOST optimized game ever.. No game comes close to looking as good as c3 yet you can still run it on dual core processors and get 30 fps.

And as far as bugs?? Not many at all, most of the Multiplayer issues are intended game design (like auto aim arrows)

@ OP, at low settings I bet you will get better frames than you did in C2

I disagree. At lowest settings in C3, my FPS dipped below 30fps in Museum, due to water physics. This would never happen in C2, ever!! After upgrading to this new Intel CPU, butter smooth museum. Seeing as his CPU is on equal terms or slower than the Phenom II x4 955, he may struggle a bit.

Both processors (A8-5500 and Phenom II x4 955) are more or less in the same class: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/676?vs=88
